I actually liked the changes made to the Toa Metru. They’re more colorful.
what about toa nuva
I feel most of the Toa Nuva were fairly accurate to the sets, with the exception of Takanuva.
Here we have Takanuva in the movie:
And here is what we got as a set:

Here are my two big complaints:
They made them look drastically different than the sets to make them appear more organic as they were portrayed in the books…though I do admit that some of the design choices looked too different. coughNivawkcough
Srsly those wings
MOL Pohatu… that confused me as a kid.
He’s so majestic.
I love both looks, but I think for movies, the art direction used by LoMN was the best fit. MoL seemed almost too organic, while WoS seemed too mechanical. TLR was just too accurate to the sets, which doesn’t look bad, just not my taste.
What always confused me is that when the Matoran get out of the pods at the end of LoMN, they all look exactly the same as they do in MoL. However, the Matoran in MoL were rebuilt versions, whereas at the end of LoMN they were in their diminished forms.
The movies were only semi-canon, so don’t think too hard about that.
Thing is, it would’ve probably cost too much to make an entirely new CG model for the Matoran just for the ending.
Pohatu Nuva in general just needs a new mask.
Oh this topic
this topic I like
For some of them, I like the movie version more than the set version. That’s why I’m attempting to make the movie versions in set form.
Teridax is mostly done.
Makuta is mostly done.
I like the old trilogy, I didnt try to copy the toys looks. It had its own thing going.
I like that Pohatu and Onua were the same as all the other toa, with no variations
then again that does sorta suck
Oh mata nui…that is sad. and it makes me want the movie one that much more…
Them purple parts.
