I got the Ninjago Titan Mech Battle set a while back and decided to modify it a bit. Using Mixel joints, I added more range to the neck and gave it proper knee joints.

That’s about it, simple but effective modifications. The knees aren’t super stable but it still works. Critique and advice is welcome.
My one problem with set mods (including my mecha horse mods); it just shows how lazy Lego is. A simple part swap can do wonders in making a good set great without sacrificing stability.
Lego rant aside; even as a non ninjago (or any system theme for that matter) fan I love this. It keeps the look of the original while making it way better than the original. My only moc concern might be the mixel knees but they look like they easily hold it up without trouble.
