Odd topic, I know. But a post in the LEGO store topic got me thinking about past experiences shopping, for LEGO and others, so share your own stories about things that have happened to you in stores.
I was once got yelled at by a cashier advertisement of Buy one get one 40% off at Hot-Topic.
I have gotten more then a few weird looks from cashiers when I go in a store by myself and buy LEGO…
That’s why I use self checkout. I don’t like being judged on my basket full of LEGO sets, Magic: the gathering cards, and five cases of ramen noodles.
bruh, much insecure
I really got nothing
I guess one time when the cashier was giving me change he accidentally gave me an extra $10.
Nice/Dumb guy that I am decided to give it back…
At first I thought this said “Shipping Experiences” and I was so prepared
On Topic:
I mainly end up buying sets from Walmart or Target when I can afford them. What I do is pick a few sets within the price range I’d like to get, then buy the one that had the lowest quantity on the store shelf.
For example, if I had to choose between Lewa or Gali, I’d pick Gali because there’s only one left compared to the five Lewas left.
Either that or I go by piece count.
I was looking for Lewa, and found Uxar.
I bought Uxar.
I remember this one time I was walking out of my local Toys R Us a few years back and some lady was cussing about Smurf toys. To this day I laugh about that moment.
Gosh, buying Kopaka and Melum was an awkward thing, it seemed like everyone in line as well as the cashier were all staring me down and judging me for every sin I have ever done.
And the cashier was an old lady, and then there was me, some creepy, tall teen who needed a razor at the time. Buying a LEGO set.
yey.
If anything you could easily play it off as buying it for a younger brother or something
Nope, I have always just owned up to it.
(But yeah it is super awkward, like when the cashiers are chatty college students)
Idaho, I live near a college town.
Let’s see I usually look around for a bit then grab the set im going to buy. Then I go pay and then leave no one really gives me looks or anything they mind their own business. Oh and sometimes I’ll get a cashier that’s says “oh i just bought this for my kid” or “I just bought this a couple of days ago for myself”.
Oh yes, this gives me incentive to make a video I’ve wanted to make for a long time!!
I’ll post that later.
Am I the only one here who asks his parents to let him go to the Toy Aisle when he’s at Target to look at the LEGOs and the action figures because I’m pretty much still a kid at heart?
I’ve had a clerk throw a tray of gum at me, true story actually.
(you can say I was in a sticky situation)
((or maybe I burst his bubble))
(((HELP ME)))
One time I was trying to buy some Christmas gifts and I really needed to use the price scanner-unfortunately, there was a LINE for the price scanner and it was being held up by an old lady who had no idea how to use the darn thing.
