I started building this MOC originally to use that Witch Doctor helmet, but I realized just using the skull on a regular figure would probably be how it’s always used in the past. So, I started looking around my room for a pilot for a mech kinda deal, and I found that girl in the skull hoodie. I got it from the Lego store last year.
From there, it was just a matter of matching aesthetics. On the same trip, I had purchased a box of parts from the pick-a-brick wall, and never used all those little curved slopes you see. They were the same color as the girl’s hair, so I just smattered them all over the place.
The name is a combination of “skull” and “coral” because I’m not particularly creative.
Very unique and cool! The CCBS parts blend in very well with the rest. I like the how the ribcage works as some kind of cockpit, and I agree with Wekua that it looks pretty tasty for some reason.
This simple construction is what’s under the skull helmet. Using a Hordika neck I was able to get that 3-beam on; that connects to the CCBS shell to which the skull attaches.
Two people now say it looks tasty… maybe next creation should be something even tastier. I wonder if I still have that loaf of bread built.
Gonna be honest, there’s not a lot of system on this guy. Yes, the lower legs are pretty much all system, as well as the upper arms, but everything else has a heavy CCBS focus.
As for Golden Skorall here, it’s a bold move to use the Witch Doctor helmet as-is on a given moc in the current year, and the execution is faithful to the idea of this being a skeleton-themed mech. I just wish the upper legs didn’t look like the tail ends of a labcoat.
