Some bad news regarding a 90th anniversary cmf series rumor

So promobricks recently made an article on the rumored next cmf series 23. Which had previously been speculated to be a 90th anniversary series with classic figure remakes. However this new rumor/leak claims the 23 series will be in the style of series 18(Which celebrated the minifigs 40th)and thus will not include any direct remakes but instead the generic people in costumes.

This news is rather disappointing in my opinion. I would have loved a series celebrating LEGO themes in a proper way that isn’t just generic figs with theme references.

I’ve been wishing for minifigures to end for like 5 years now, it’s a stale theme which recycles existing concepts it had before

This is great news! Minifigures is one of my favorite themes, I hope they do some cool original characters instead.

Series 23 was revealed and the nutcracker is a day one purchase for me. He has another sword piece in gold! Clearly the design team for ninjago also worked on these cmfs.
