Some Lore from my Science Fantasy World

You may notice a lot of comparisons to Bionicle, that’s because all of this is inspired by it, with more Japanese influences rather than Maori.

The Aganni
The Aganni are powerful heroes sent to the mortal world of Quotri by the Great Erizu to protect the Torotu from evil creatures and themselves due to their war-mongering nature. There are a total of 9 Aganni, and once they die or pass their Kyr (Spirit) is reincarnated into the next chosen ones.
After a thousand years of the Aganni protecting the Torotu, they disappeared, with their spirits not reincarnating. This lead to chaos and death in the lands of Quotri for hundreds of years, seeing the development of weapons and technologies used specifically to kill other Torotu.
It was after the emergence of Anziru that the Aganni awoke on each island, presumably sent by Erizu from the Acorr to reunite the Torotu and defend them from evil.
The Aganni Adesu, lead by Pasiartu the Aganni of Kapal, fought valiantly against the evil creatures created by Anrizu, Torotu and nature such as Arutons, Qozkairn and Nozoks.

The Aganni Adesu consist of:

  • Pasiartu of Kapal
  • Noshiaza of Pha Tarata
  • Kiatimu of Des Iruki
  • Ormagumi of Tanoir
  • Yatimaga of Akaphelen
  • Dimoz of Dria Kataun
  • Lyami of Illimaro
  • Kalura of Olmu
  • Uramugi of Walutiap

Mechanical Creatures
In the Ekai lands of Quotri, there are a number of mechanical creatures running off of an artificial kyr known as a ‘spark‘. These creatures have been created by the Torotu and Anziru and even in some cases by themselves over the eons of Ekai’s existence.

Known mechanical creatures in Quotri include:

  • Goks, created by the Torotu for use in war who know only how to kill
    and obey their masters.
  • Kozu Bugs, self-replicating robots created by the Torotu many years
ago to aid in engineering, however they escaped and cause havoc
across Quotri, destroying their main food source of Pantu Grass in
    Illimaro.
  • Qozkairn, self-replicating robots also created by the Torotu that
were originally intended to be used in war, however they escaped and
    were replaced by the Goks.
  • Arutons, created by Anziru to prey on Torotu, these machines can
camouflage themselves and render themselves practically invisible.

Acorr
Acorr, also known as the outer world, is where a number of planes exist including Tenoku, place of Torotu afterlife, and Ekikru, where all kyri are created, and where the Aganni were made. Acorr is also where the Great Erizu, the creator of Ekai, resides.

Uchumi
The Universe that the Great Erizu created, Uchumi, contains many planes and layers of existence including Acorr, Quotri and Anekur.
The main part of Uchumi is Ekai, which harbors many layers. The outer layer of Ekai is called Acorr Irmani, the waters of Acorr. This is a vast body of water suspended high in the skies.
The next layer is Akar, the shell of the world. This holds the Acorr Irmani at bay, stopping it from flooding the mortal plane and also preventing mortals from escaping. Only Kyr can escape through Akar by traveling up vast funnels that lead to Tenoku.
After Akar is the mortal plane known as Quotri, however this name is used interchangeably to refer to the world and the archipelago that the Torotu inhabit.
Below that is Ekai Irmani, the waters of Ekai. This body of water exists to aid warming the mortal plane.
In the centre of Ekai is Beuami and Anekur, the latter is the residence of Anziru and the former is the resting place of artificial beings, of which are forced to work to warm and cool the Ekai Irmani.

The truth about Ekai
Ekai is in fact a Dyson Sphere, with Quotri being the habitable surface on top of the main sphere resting on Ekai Irmani. Beuami is in the interior of the sphere and harnesses the heat from the artificial star in the centre, Anekur. There is still a shell around Ekai with Acorr Irmani and Akar
Ekai, and Uchumi, was created by the beings known as the Tagiru, who wiped themselves out in interplanetary war leaving just Erizu and Anziru. Erizu created the Torotu and other creatures to inhabit the so-called ‘mortal realm’ of Quotri, and allowed the mechanical beings to continue working in Beuami. Anziru took command of Beuami and the rest of Ekai’s centre, including the star Anekur.

I try to explain it in this crudely made diagram

Elemental Powers
While not gifted to ordinary Torotu, some, including Aganni and Shamans, can manipulate the elements that make up Quotri. It is thought that most powers are gifted directly from Erizu, and are channeled from Ekikru in Acorr to the Torotu in question. Anziru has also been able to channel these powers into machines, e.g. Arutons.

Elemental Powers allocated to Aganni:

  • Ice, Aganni of Kapal
  • Fire, Aganni of Pha Tarata
  • Metal, Aganni of Des Iruki
  • Air, Aganni of Tanoir
  • Gravity, Aganni of Akaphelen
  • Lightning/Electricity, Aganni of Dria Kataun
  • Flora, Aganni of Illimaro
  • Water, Aganni of Olmu
  • Earth, Aganni of Walutiap

In the distant past, the first Aganni, the Aganni Koromu, taught the Torotu of each island specific skills such as farming, mining or creating machines. The Torotu then continued to follow the techniques taught by their idols, allocating each island to one or several tasks.

The Ordunai
The Ordunai are Aganni pretenders, they claim to follow the footsteps of the Aganni after they disappeared and have a large following of thousands of practically brainwashed Torotu from across Quotri. When the Aganni reappeared as the Aganni Adesu, the Ordunai claimed them to be fake Aganni and said that they should not be praised nor idolized but rather purged.
Currently, the Ordunai are lead by Iagumi, a Torotu who is able to completely destroy kyr, preventing them going to Tenoku.

Members of the Ordunai include:

  • Iagumi, able to destroy kyr
  • Auragi, a Shapeshifter
  • Niranu, a master of Psonics
  • Mautugi, able to create and control Vacuums
  • Leumi, a master of Teleportation
  • Hauyi, able to manipulate Magnetism

The Soryani
The Soryani are many metal towers located in northern Tanoir, they are a landmark and cultural centre for the island. Of the hundreds of Soryani, some hang from the sky latching on to Akar, and some sprout from the ground. These metallic spires transfer energy and water from Ekai Irmani and Akar Irmani and are essentially huge power cables. Many of the Soryani are uninhabited by Torotu, however at least one has been commandeered by the Ordunai, where they use it as a port for Tschana and as their headquarters. Several ground Soryani, however, are populated by Torotu and are used as buildings.

The Tagiru
The creators of Uchimi, the living gods. The Tagiru are worshiped by the Torotu as omnipotent beings who were able to materialize the universe from a simple thought. More specifically, the Torotu worship Erizu as their creator, and despise Anziru, calling him the creator of evil.
In reality, aeons in the past, there were 3 brothers who escaped the vast war that saw the rest of the Tagiru’s demise at each others hands. They were Erizu, the eldest, Anziru, the middle brother, and Ikeru, the younger. Erizu and Anziru created Uchumi from the remains of a once great Tagiru factory world, and saw little to no help from Ikeru. Erizu told his youngest brother that they should dispose of Anziru, seeing him as a potential threat to their rule in the future, and Ikeru agreed. However, unbeknownst to Ikeru, Erizu and Anziru were in fact planning to kill him, and did so, using his kyr to create the spirit realms needed in Acorr.

The Nekusau
The Nekusau are focal points where kyr pass through to reach Tenoku, or in turn travel from Ekikru to Quotri, they are effectively huge funnels that lead through Akar and into Acorr but only in the sudo-physical realm of Tarchumi that exists parallel with Archumi, but both lie within Uchumi. However in the physical realm, they are channels of fast flowing air and water, with holes in the main layers of Ekai, however all are meta-physical, disallowing water and other materials to pass.
These areas, when harnessed correctly, can allow the user to gain great power. This is due to the thousands of kyr that pass through the Nekusau, and a Torotu could, in theory, harvest these kyr to their own needs.

Thanks  put a lot of effort in it.

Thinking of writing some short stories or something set in it, maybe about the adventures of the Aganni Adesu and their battles with the Ordunai, not quite sure though.

Introducing some more stuff though, such as

Amazing

I have been trying to make my own bionicle world
but it is still in its Infancy

Thank you
Your one sounds cool too : )

Also, just mentioning, the Torotu are squid-like people rather than biomechanical beings like the Matoran, here’s a pic of Noshiaza, one of the 9 Aganni Adesu

I see you also took a lot of inspiration from Feudal Japan

Yeah, I decided to use that rather than Maori, to be different.

Scanned my map of the Quotri Archipelago with all the place names

And also, drew Iagumi, the leader of the Ordunai

And yes, he does have cybernetics  You may also notice the towers in the background, they are one of many Soryani. There are also Tschana, which are War-Zeppelins that are also flying around in the background.

Hope you guys like all this
