Callen looks at the Gore then at Kanei before he grabs the warrior and tries to hurl him at the creature.

Kanei thinks fast and tries to anchor himself to the gore with his Hook. “How’s it hanging kid?” He jests

You are falling through the air, at least 40 feet off the ground, and that number is shrinking fast. You have your axe still.
You are able to grab onto the Gore’s wing, causing it to immediately buckle under the weight, its altitude decreasing rapidly. Just before it threatens to crush both you have Iosif against the ground, it drops Iosif with a screech, and immediately launches itself directly upwards.
The other Gores are behaving in a similar manner, launching themselves up and away into the darkness.

Callen, upon seeing the mass exodus of monsters, tries to shoot down as many of the Gores as he can, reloading quickly after each bolt flies from the crossbow.

Kanei grabs the rope attached to the grappling hook and slides down it hoping to get lower to the ground so he doesn’t break too many bones, before judging the how high up he is.

“Use the hook to try and slow your descent by driving it into something!” Callen yells as he now is running to try and catch up to them to attempt helping the two reach the ground safely.

Callen is now booking it to try and intercept Iosif as he falls, he tries to find a good gap to jump towards the boy and act as a brake to slow their descent so they don’t end up going splat upon reaching the ground.
He also tries to shoot down the Gore Kanei is hooked to.

Iosif has hit the ground. The Gore was pulled down by the added weight, and dropped him to stay aerial. He was only a few feet off the ground when he fell.
At this point in time, yes. You’re about 4-5 feet off the ground.

Callen moves to see if Iosif is okay. He is breathing hard as he slows down, that throw seemed to take a lot out of him.

The Verdant Paladin tucks in the air and hits the ground rolling slightly. The fall knocks the wind out of him for a moment, but he swiftly recovers and gets up of the ground, trying to regain his bearings.
Pulling the blade out, Hereward surveys the area for any other approaching monsters. He looks to see if Holland can get up, provided the Gore collapsed on the man. If it’s evident that Holland needs help getting up, and no monsters can come soon enough to be a threat, Hereward sheaths the sword. Keeping the sunstone up to further ward off their enemies, he uses his free right arm to help pull Holland out from the monster.
“Get up!” He grunts.

Iosif bites the fall hard. Even though he only dropped a few feet, the cage altering his weight and Iosif’s natural horrible ability to take a fall left him with a likely bruised hip and a scuffed hand. He gingerly felt the outside of his glove to see if he was bleeding.
Even on the ground Iosif backpedals away from Callen. The mysterious peddler had appeared to threaten Iosif before, having shouted at him, approached him armed, and attempting to grapple him, and the events of his ‘rescue’ hadn’t gone to reinforce any confidence. So iosif crawled backwards, his cage scraping the ground beneath him, desperately trying to stay out of sword’s reach.
Before Callen’s approach Iosif almost seemed to tear up from the stress and the impact, but now being afraid was primary on the schedule.
