Star Wars: Delta Squad

Isn’t it funny that what amounted to a gratuitous cameo in 2011 ultimately saved one of the coolest things to come out of Star Wars from Legends hell? Anyway, I felt inspired one night earlier this week and I got to work. As always, other than the helmets (which are Mandalorian because I’m unaware of any clone trooper parts at the moment), all of these guys are purist, which wasn’t as easy to maintain as you’d think from one to the next.

RC-1138 “Boss”

You lizards need to learn I’m a lot scarier than you are.

Boss packs dual DC-17 hand blasters he was seen with in The Clone Wars tv show (or at least his official render anyway). Boss was one of the ones I was most worried about replicating in this style because orange is a color I’ve had difficulty working with in large quantities in the past, but funnily enough, the moc has more orange than actual Boss has; primarily because the shin guards don’t come in white (but do come in orange). I actually do think this works in the moc’s favor.

RC-1140 “Fixer”

String 'em along and we’ll mop 'em up.

Fixer was the last one I made and he proved to be the most difficult to retain in this same basic build. Most of the essential parts I needed don’t come in any shade of green, forcing me to come up with custom shin guards, thighs, and torso markings. For what it’s worth, I do think most of the choices I’ve made work (though the shin guards should use work). Like Scorch, Fixer wields a DC-17m repeating blaster rifle.

RC-1207 “Sev”

Rule 17: Always make sure they’re dead.

Everybody’s favorite psychopath is the only one I could give a remotely accurate helmet (thank you Pridak). Originally I was gonna use dark red since I think that shade is closer to Sev’s actual color scheme, but since the Pridak markings are in Mata red I had to switch gears, which works since more of the pieces I needed are in Mata red anyway. You’ll notice that this moc is posed like his TCW render, but I gave him a rifle from the official Commander Cody set (which I believe is inspired by a DLT-19x targeting blaster) because it feels wrong to not give Sev his signature rifle.

RC-1262 “Scorch”

If we’re all clones, why am I the only one with a sense of humor?

Scorch was the first one of these guys I’d made, and I was actually inspired by his appearance in The Bad Batch (which imo means things don’t look too good for Sev), so all of the other Deltas’ builds are based around his. I believe I’ve covered all the bases, so I don’t have much to say other than I really hope we see more of these guys in the future.

Nice! Reminds me of the time that guy made the tf2 mercenaries with hero factory parts.

Fun crossover and nice MOCS! I played the game once, watched my brother play it a lot, good memories!

A mandalorian Bionicle mask. I didn’t see this coming.
