What was your rationale for choosing the Ruru as his original mask?
As for feedback, I’m not too sure about the blue fingertips; not only do they make the hands look a bit too busy, they also don’t really work with the idea that Takua’s mask was only blue because it was a replacement mask that didn’t fit right (the same goes for the blue Ruru).

Well, his original mask isn’t officially known, so, I picked one randomly. Regarding the blue on him, this is the canonical reason: He was relocated to Metru Nui by the Order of Mata Nui during the Time Slip, disguised as a Ta-Matoran, though due to his lackluster amount of control, his disguise was a poor one.
His original mask was damaged and replaced with an ill-fitting blue Pakari.
Remember, Av-Matoran can change their armor colors at will and most Kanohi are dull gray unless worn.

This looks good, and that what I thought the Ruru as his original mask, but I would like it if was black to fit the whole disguise Ta-Matoran thing.

Takua canonically had lackluster control of his color changing. Besides, Kanohi (minus the Avohkii and Legendary masks) are dull gray unless they’re worn. Once they’re put on, the Kanohi changes color to match the wearer’s element. So, any mask he put on would turn blue.
