“Good enough.” Alexis mused as she propped herself on the back of the chair in front of her, she could faintly smell the wine in tharos’ cup. Strangely she didn’t take him as a fan of alcohol when they first met, much less wine. Maybe after this she could convince him to share the location of where he was hiding it.

Alexis ignored the jab, only offering a small smile in response. “We should consider ourselves lucky we didn’t, we haven’t had the best of luck on the open sea so far.” She paused to let that fact ruminate in the air before continuing. “However it’s seems the crew has handled every challenge we’ve faced so far decently well, I’m confident we would have dealt with it.” That comment wasn’t aimed at Tharos, more a general statement to the crew. In her own way this was a way of congratulating them on the work they had done so far. No matter how she felt personally about each of the crew members the facts that they had gone through much and still remained alive spoke volumes, even if they had lost Nico during the storm.

Nico.

She didn’t know why losing him bothered her so much. she had been asked to keep an eye on them, keep them out of trouble. Losing him meant that she had failed that goal of course but for some odd reason that’s not what bothered her.

it just did.

Alexis straightened again, almost as if a violent shiver had ran through her body, her attention sharpening once again on Tharos, mind racing back to the confrontation they had yesterday. “Tharos, speaking plainly, after this meeting is over I would like to speak to you in private.”
