I did the same recently, but I substituted the Ark in place of star convoy, as the last Autobot (don’t like the idea of optimus as one of the 13) Liege is awesome was very happy they didn’t do the marvel loki design.

Today, I went to a large nearby LEGO store, and I came home satisfied with my purchases.

First up, I acquired some of the few (marginally) intelligent Chima characters, plus a raven. I recently finished watching the show, and Crooler, Mottrot, and Eris were some of the characters I wanted minifigures of the most (not many other Chima characters have that distinction). And, while I didn’t necessarily have any particular interest in Rawzom, ravens are always nice to have.

Next, I got a few Ninjago characters I’ve been wanting lately: two scientist-class Imperians and some Legacy figures. I couldn’t justify getting the sets with Dr. LaRow, Libber, and 2026 Pilots Nya just for the figures, so I’m glad I was able to obtain them nonetheless. The store also had Jordana’s first outfit, but it was between that or the Tournament of Sources one, so I chose her most recent garb.

The store also had a bulk of random Ninjago parts, which included two exciting sand green Protector feet (from Movie Lloyd’s dragon mech). I also put Mottrot’s Chi harness in there for the photo, since he didn’t have any armor in the show.

That bulk also included a still-sealed Bag 4 of the Iron Doom set, which, while not one of the bags that contains now-valuable minifigures (or any minifigures), still had a few great parts. Plus, opening it allowed me to smell 2017 air for the first time since 2017.

I used the parts from the Ninjago piece bulk to build a little temple. Who knows how long it’ll stay intact, but it was fun to build, and I managed to use all the parts I don’t have an interest in otherwise using (those nice Protector feet are off to the side).

Bag 4 of Iron Doom became this. Nothing too extraordinary, and the front constantly wants to break off, but I’m just glad I was able to use every last piece–no stragglers to get lost in a box somewhere! Libber’s piloting it only because I don’t have any Vermillion (or, indeed, any Hands of Time figures whatsoever). But, since she first debuted in that season, I figured she was the closest fit.

EDIT: I have no idea how I completely forgot about the two Greg Farshtey Ninjago graphic novels I got!

Warriors of Stone was pretty good–I’d put it on the level of Mask of the Sensei and Stone Cold. (It helps that it’s situated in the timeline right where I am on my current Ninjago rewatch…) Comet Crisis was a little more meh–still good, but closer to The Phantom Ninja, Rise of the Serpentine, and Tomb of the Fangpyre.

I just saw NRG Jay’s set being sold for $999 at a used LEGO store yesterday… Rare might be an understatement.

Granted, the store was generally overpriced anyway, but the point still stands…
