The Artist Formally Known as Prince

After hearing about his death, I wanted to know if there are any other prince fans on this site besides me. Purple Rain, When Doves Cry, I would Die 4 U, I Wanna Be Your lover, Kiss, the Most Beautiful Girl in the World, Thieves in the Temple, any song.

I enjoyed a few of his songs, but I never really considered myself a fan of his. It is a sad loss for the world.

Man, far too many great musicians are leaving us this year…

I don’t really get into music stars–I enjoy good music all around, without really gravitating towards people. But, despite the fact that I can’t be called a “fan,” I would have to live under a rock not to recognize Prince’s influence and legacy. Anyone who can inspire that many people from so many different generations is clearly incredibly talented. His loss is the world’s loss, and though I was never personally attached or devoted to him, I am sad nonetheless at his passing. I hope he and his family have found rest and peace…

I never listened to his stuff, but wasn’t one of his songs in the 1989 Batman movie?

That’s all I remember his songs for. Seems like he was really popular, though. Such a shame he died.

Much of what I know of him comes form the Chapel’s show episode of Charlie Murphy’s basketball game against Prince. It was very funny, but it was sad he died. Not as sad for me as David Bowie or (especially) Alan Rickman, but still sort of sad.

That song that was playing when Joker was defacing the paintings was one of his.

Haven’t seen the movie, but I do know that his 1989 album Batman is a soundtrack to the film.
