Blame! is a pretty dark cyberpunk-ish manga about this dude called Killy who has a really OP gun and wanders around in a friggin gigantic city invaded by killer cyborgs n stuff
So I recently started reading this and i love it
thought the style probably isn’t for everybody
Have you also read the series: “Knights of Sidonia” from Tsutomu nihei?
And if you have, is it worth continuing it? I’ve stopped after the first chapter
Welp, the unusually clean art style and the mainstreamish kind of storytelling kinda scared me off
If you happen to read it, you have to tell me if it goes better
Apparently Netflix made a movie for it. I’m about 45 minutes in and it looks like the other anime Netflix originals. Also follows the manga well, but also leaves stuff out.
From an adaptation point, I’d say it’s bad. It barely follows the manga in the beginning, adding a lot of extra characters. Later on it only deviates more. So if you’re looking to see a good adaptation of Blame! this isn’t it.
However, it’s still a pretty great movie and has the general concepts of Blame! The animation is good, although at moments it looks strange, and the safeguards, Killy, and Cibo are all recognizable. Also the action is pretty great.
I recommend watching it, but just know it’s not the manga.
Watched a bit of the movie the other weekend, seemed interesting and I’ll hopefully get around to watching the rest. Haven’t read the manga so I don’t know if it’s better or not.
So I started rereading the manga, because I barely remembered any of it. I realized the movie is more accurate than I though, but still isn’t too accurate. It’s based off a section in the manga.
Also, I think there’s more sound effects than words. XD
