My most resent Makuta is pretty-much complete at this point (excepting the feet, which I’m still experimenting with), but might not be posted for a while, as I’ll finish him with the parts of the newest buildable Darth Vader once he goes on clearance (I just can’t justify paying 40 bucks for him).
Also, on the off-chance that you haven’t begun drawing Wanitama yet, could you wait a bit? I’m considering giving him a total overhaul, making him more Technic based and adding some blue to the color scheme.

Wouldn’t it be quicker and cheaper to simply get the parts from bricklink?
I already have. Still I appreciate updated versions - it will still have an influence on my revamp of him (which might happen in the reasonable future - that is, whenever I feel like building something with Mata red without a custom head) Current plan is Xoth, Erdorn, probably Tethis, hopefully Isthra. After that I don’t know.

I don’t just plan on getting him for the parts I have specific plans for, like those for this guy- I want other parts that give me some freedom to experiment (since I actually haven’t bought a CCBS set since 2015). Also, I have a $20 Walmart gift card, not a $20 Bricklink gift card.
For anyone who wants something fun to read as well as an example of how Mutran might have been like had Tren Krom been a little less… sensitive - I forced the Mutran Chronicles through Google Translate. It’s been some time since I laughed that hard for that long.

How’s this for Wanitama’s revamp?
The legs are just there to hold the body up for the photo, and are by no means final. This version will have no yellow.
If anyone’s got any ideas for armoring the waist area, I’m all ears.

- Is that sand blue or light blue?
- Interesting use of the Metru head, although I can imagine that in terms getting some armor below it is difficult… If you want the torso to be angled like that a Hordika neck might maybe be an alternative
- Shoulders stick out a little much presently. Also from personal experience I’d recommend using balljoints as shoulders - works way better for articulation. If you keep the shoulders this wide I’d suggest adding pauldrons as well as something beneath them to make them flow better with the body.
- Upper torso is rather gappy from the side and the back armor doesn’t seem to flow that well from that paw piece to the robo rider head.
That’s all I can currently think of.
Overall looks quite nice from the front so far, but not so much from other angles.

Your suggestions are noted. That color is light blue. I’m trying to find a way to Incorporated Brain Attack Furno’s head on the back to smooth it out, and I also am trying to use Sir Santis’s visor piece (as it has the perfect color pallet) or the 2015 mask of fire to armor the crotch area, but I can’t find good connections for any of them, especially the last two. Suggestions in that regard would be extremely appreciated.
More updates on Wanitama: I armored up his waste area, though I’m still not quite satisfied with it. I do like the smoother back I’ve made, though. I’ve also begun custom arms.

When there is an opening, I’d like to create another Makuta.
The topmost part of the back plating sticks out a little too much in my opinion. Maybe try using something there instead that also covers the top of the torso at the same time. Or teh other way around - put armor on teh top of the torso that extends down a bit.
I assume those free ball sockets on the metru hip will eventually be used to give the legs more stability?
Using Mata hands like that on the shoulder will prevent the arms from moving outwards. Nonetheless I can’t deny that it looks interesting.
Sure, but it’s up to you to get back to me in time to claim a spot when one gets available again. WHoever claims it first will get it.
So, have you thought about my words? Do you want to give it another try or did you decide to drop out so that others can get a chance at participating as well?

Yeah, the legs will attach to both sets of ball joints. As it is, I’m not sure I’ll keep the arms as they are- I’ll probably keep those mata hands (because I only have so many parts in light blue), but I’m not sure in what capacity.

Sure. Take everything people said about your older MOCs into consideration while building this new one and I’m sure the result will be something we can work with.
Some more things I’d like to mention, though:
- It’s not necessarily the MOC’s height that matters, but rather its complexity. Nonetheless it should have a certain size. Here’s an example on what I’d deem totally acceptable in that regard:

Your pictures were rather dark/blurry I’d suggest you try taking future pictures in a place with better lighting (outside in the daylight, for example)

The less backstory you write the less errors can be in it. I’d thus recommend keeping it simple: Name, Kanohi, occupation, how your Makuta died. If you need help, let me know and we can figure something out together.
