The character I am thinking of, is both crazy loyal, and just flat out crazy. He would give his life to protect the colony and queen.

I’m thinking of a young man, probably a senior in high school.
his parents died tur to an accident in his grandfather’s lab.
eventually, his grandfather, a pioneer in Photon research, died, but not after giving this young man his magnum opus- a giant robot.
with this, he fights the evil Dr. Hell, and his legions of mechanical beasts, defending the Photon Power Laboratory.

Just by googling Dr. Hell, I can safely say, that I have never heard of what you’re talking about. 
Alright, I’m still gonna do a do.
The character i’m thinking of is a lethargic bookworm (they definitely have at least one health problem), who also practices strong magic. Lives in a library.
