The Cursed Great Being

Hi everyone! Though unnamed in the story, the character commonly referred to as the Cursed Great Being played an important role in the narrative surrounding the Mask of Life, showing its power and danger. He was also reintroduced in the final serials published online, though what his role was going to be remains unknown.

In the lore, his curiosity led to him touching the Ignika, which cursed him so that everything around him began coming to life, driving him insane. He was chained up by the other Great Beings and locked away in a fortress on Bota Magna for over 100,000 years.

He was a lot of fun to design, mostly because I used the rarely paired colors of pearl sand blue and old brown, with a hint of translucent neon green to stand out against the black. I wanted him to look like a giant hunchback, one who really looks cursed. My Angonce build from a while back honors the more likely canon appearance, but here, I just wanted to go by how I imagined him looking. I also wanted to challenge myself by using old brown as one of the primary colors to use, a rarer and more difficult color to use, not just because it is discontinued, but also because most of the Bionicle parts released in brown are huge. It works very well with pearl sand blue, and looks even better in person.

Hope you like him!

This guy definitely gives off ‘cursed god’ vibes, so great job on that. The predominantly G1 aesthetic blends especially well with that head design (big fan of the neon chains hanging off its head).

@TheMOCingbird Thank you! That is exactly the aesthetic I was going for when building him. I’ve been trying to find a good use for those chains for almost two years, and I’m glad an opportunity finally presented itself!

The Black Phantom head you used seems awful small in comparison to the rest of the body. Was there a specific reason you went with that head choice?

@Ghid I don’t disagree, but it was the only helmet design that let me use the chains the way I wanted to.

The big brick-built chains are really convincing.

I really like how you did the chains. The color scheme is also very nice.
