The drill beetle (very creative name, I know) thrives in the dry lands and is capable of surviving in the harshest of deserts. The small critter uses its drill-shaped horn to fend off predators. Male drill beetles will often fight each over a mate until one admits defeat or is flipped over by the victor.
Drill beetles are usually featured in underground beetle races, which has contributed to their large population and popularity as pets.
