The golden-skinned being (updated)

About the character

it is the result of the Fusion of some specimens of certain species; Vortixx-Stelttian-Zyglak and the 6 piraka (Annona infers that Zaktan is also included in the being), physically their characteristics are having undulating muscles, a vaguely reptilian face with narrow slits with a penetrating gaze.

About the figure

In the process it occurred to me to start from a ccbs base to see the necessary height for the figure, in general the legs have Vortixx and Zyglag traits appreciable in the shape of the foot and knees, the arms have Zyglag and Steltian traits reflected in shoulders and claws, Skakdy’s Elements are visible on head and tail (remember the piraka at that point were snakes). For the rest of the body I tried to get closer to the description as a muscular being, Chi-Gorzan’s chest was an element that I liked how it looked and Toa Inika Jaller’s chest is complemented as an abdomen.

For the head of the figure I ended up being a build similar to the Zyglak in shape and size, Zaktan-like horns are visible, for the jaw I went for something that would fit the compact size of the head using the troll swords from Lego Castle.

For the color scheme, brown, tan and dark tan were used to complement parts in gold, the color black was used mostly for structure and some pieces in yellow to fill in certain areas.

For structure in the figure I decided to use a leg construction with a piston support and an extra support joint for the hip since it was more secure for me to pose the figure, for the hip I wanted to use a method that you surely saw in my version of Artakha, with that I extend the hip width for a natural look for these figures and this is complemented as a reference of how the hips of the Zyglak connect.

Making the stud.io file of the figure I realized that the figure had a problem with the proportion of the lower leg. Making corrections, I changed a couple of things about the figure to pose it easily.

for the moment here are the breakdown photos of the model

here some comparison of reference sizes

Glad to see a GSB without the expensive Skadi Spine, clever head design and nice shaping-especially on the upper legs.

Thanks, I’ll see if I can modify some things before uploading it to the contest

I’ll have to see the other contestant’s entries, but I’m seriously considering casting my vote for yours.

You know, that’s actually the first GSB I’ve seen that I can see working as that character (besides my brilliant rendition, of course) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

No excessive Skakdi resemblance - which only makes sense given the other beings fused into it - but also not resembling anything else too much while still retaining some qualities, as you mention.

What irks my love for G1 a bit is the use of CCBS :stuck_out_tongue: , but it undeniably looks good.

If I’d have to criticize anything in particular, I’d probably say the back of the upper torso feels a bit hollow.

Woah this is marvelous. One of the most unique too, I could make that head canon

This is amazing! I like how organic it looks, as though his muscles are bursting through the remaining mechanical parts from the various beings in the fusion.

Most other GSB MOCs I’ve seen do not do a great job filling out the torso to be more natural, but yours does a good job with that. The proportions and scale are quite nice too, and it feels very much in-line with the rest of Bionicle.

And the CCBS chest was a must here. Nothing could have achieved that shaping so nicely aside from that piece.

Excellent work!

that torso is just perfect :ok_hand:, probably my only gripe is the wrists, they seem a bit to cluttered

Have you considered using the new gold hand connectors for your moc?

I really like this. For starters, the whole build is extremely “smooth”, with no glaring gaps; it makes perfect sense for a being that is described as being particularly organic-looking (muscles, skin, etc.).

The real make-or-break point for any Golden Skinned Being MOC (in my eyes), though, is the head, and you’ve done a great job with it here. Obviously it matches the non-gappiness of the rest of the build, but I mostly appreciate the fact that it contains design nods to most, if not all, of the component beings. You already mentioned the Zyglak-like build and the Zaktan/Skakdi spines, but I also see an element of a Vortixx in there.

Yep, although as are the segments that are part of the neck and shoulder joint they need their space, although I took advantage of completing the lower back based on your comment

I doubt I can get those connectors u.u

Thank you all for your comments :brown_heart:

Interesting way of making the head. Kind of looks like one of those Rahi from Metru nui movie.
