From the deepest, darkest depths of the sea arises a creature beyond imagination; beyond comprehension. A creature that powers over all other organisms within it’s vicinity. A creature known as the Grovilath.
As many of you may know, I started a topic about a week ago in which I posted daily updates on my progress with this MOC. My plan was to take my spring break and spend every day building what I believe to be one of my best, and definitely largest MOCs. I went into this thinking about how unexplored the ocean is; what kind of creatures could possibly live down there. Why not a crazy giant monster with tendrils, giant build, and a crazy weird color scheme!
Truely fantastic. I second the motion that Ven should spotlight this. I’m just sad that it’s not a real set. I’m also still curious as to just how big he is irl
Wow, just wow. WOOOOOOOW…
Anyways, sorry for derping I gotta say, holy mama, that is really enormous to see Grovilath! Like seriously, it’s huge!
But anyways, what should I say about this. Well first of all, I really love the design of this beast, it is something that I’ve never seen before (sure there might be same looking MOCs like this, maybe, but I was out of Bionicle community like 4 years).
Well, this “crazy weird” color scheme is actually a really fascinating idea. Because it kinda gives a blended feel of it. Not sure about those Tr. lime green parts (minus those eyes), because they kinda distract the overall color scheme. Maybe Tr. red-ish orange or Tr. ice cyan blue could work better?
And the head design of The Grovilath, it’s really menacing and monster-ish look. I really love that you used Gadunka head part and using that Nocturn’s head part (or should I say more likely Carapar’s head part in glowing-in-the-dark color), it is really neat that you used it for a lower jaw, and the spiky teeth works pretty well also, except no teeth on Gadunka’s, but maybe it is also neat, because the monster design of it. And lastly for the head of The Grovilath, those Kiina’s armor parts creates something like a sea monster lion look, which I found it coincidentally.
Well, I’m tired already to day something about the torso and the limbs, all I have to say that, they’re really amazing and beast-ish looking, wonderful!
Nothing too much to say about the cons, because I don’t think that there is none, which is perfect, but like I said before, the only nitpick I have with this one is those Tr. lime green parts. But other than that I still love this one, it is really a threatening, monster-ish and aggressive looking MOC!
And what this The Grovilath gets:
4.8/5.0 pts.
Good lord that’s a killing machinea!
And wonderful work!

I have mixed feelings about this MOC. I think it’s a really nice concept, and the way you actually managed to make it look like a beast it neat. The head is pretty cool, but small comparatively, I’d make it longer, or bigger, maybe not both.
As for coloring, while there are a lot of colors which aren’t very well spread out, I do admire the fact that you kept it a lot neater than you could have.
I really love the front legs.
Honestly, this is still a cool MOC, and I bet it looks a lot better in-person, as most of these do =P
