The Hunter-Gatherer

A moc inspired by the reconstruction of how the ice mummy Otzi the Iceman would have looked alive. Wearing his winter gear, he went up into the mountains for an unknown reason, and was assassinated.

The theme was “History” and my subtheme was Prehistoric. A very wide range of things to choose from. I didn’t want to do another animal, because the last couple of my entries were related to animals.

All of these accessories can be held by the figure at one time and stored on his back. (Except for the drumstick)

Really nice! I love how you did the beard, and the tools look really nice as well. My one criticism is that the color of the skin and pants are somewhat similar, so at quick glance, it looks like a difference in lighting, not color. Overall, I’m impressed.

Thank you for the comment! He was fun to build. The problem mentioned seems to be the main complaint. It doesn’t help that one of his lower arms is dark tan to represent an arm guard. Maybe a difference in lighting would help somewhat.

This moc does a good job representing a primitive character, the sloping of the Technic piece on the waist looks great and good bit of detail, like the golden ring on it’s right side.

Back view isn’t good (especially the bottom view) .

Love the shaping as a whole, especially in the torso, the head is also very convincing. Nice work

Yes, but…

Where’s the knife in his back?

In all seriousness, this is a cool MOC and you chose a pretty unique inspiration for it- I remembering reading about Otzi for the PSAT.

I really love the shaping on the ‘pants’ and his abdomen.

Awesome! Looks very humanoid. The use of parts is fantastic.

Unique, I really like its vibe

I love this! So novel. So inventive. You’ve outdone yourself with this one.

What the heck is wrong with his face!

@Square Thanks for the comment! There are quite a few gaps in the back. Some of them should be filled in soon, but others don’t really have a good solution.

@Jayfa Thank You! Really tried to make a good realistic humanoid. Glad to see that I mostly succeeded in that.

@Sepublic22 I thought it was an arrow. Oh well. Otzi was a very interesting discovery. Remembering the evidence they found from him led to me choosing to base this off of him. Thanks for the comment!

@ReeseEH Thank you!

@Morgy Thanks!

@SonicBionicleMaster Thank you! There aren’t very many realistic humans, are there?

@BlackboltJohnson Thank you!

@BruceMeltdown I kind of gave up on making his face. The studs for his “eyes” are kind of eerie, aren’t they? One thing I’ll definitely have to fix if I revisit him later.

Looks tribal and I like the head design with the head and facial hair covering his or her face

Gah, whoops. I think it WAS an arrowhead- I likely remembered it wrong.

@SonicBionicleMaster Thanks. Pretty much what I was going for. The hair made it so I didn’t have to go through the trouble of actually building a face.

@Sepublic22 Glad to see someone else knows of the story. Our memories can be weird, sometimes.

@Ven Thanks for spotlighting this moc on the channel! Thank you for your feedback. As per your suggestion, I’ve updated my profile description with an official pronunciation of my name. Ziontyro (Zee un tie row). Not too different from how you said it in the video. Just a hard e instead of a hard I sound.
