The Kohuru Gang

,

A gang of skilled toa, notorious for spreading fear among the matoran and silencing the outspoken

Tukino

Tukino, also referred to as just Kino, is a toa of shadows and dual wields two katanas. She mainly manifests her shadow powers in the form of spikes, and when combined with her hau, Kino can create spiked barriers

Tukino takes pleasure in taking part in fear mongering and often plays with her enemies when partaking in combat

Fun fact: Kino can store her katanas in the mouth of the Nektan head piece. In story, Kino wears the head and spine of a spiked fish, with the head hanging from her shoulders

Porangi

Porangi bears the kanohi Kamate, the great mask of poisoning, which emits a gas that causes fatigue at first, and overlong exposure can put the inflicted into a state of stasis. Despite the fact that he doesn’t follow the proper color scheme, Porangi is a toa of plasma and uses his power to make up for the loss of his right arm

Like Tukino, Porangi enjoys what he does and never complains about executing orders

Hoari

The Swift Blade makes his return with a slightly updated build and bio. Most notably, I’ve improved the torso design and redid the hands. I also gave him a sword that isn’t just a blade piece on a technic connector.

Hoari is a toa with the elemental power of combustion, meaning he can create explosions that engulfs in flames. Hoari bears the kanohi Tike, the great mask of enhancement, which can temporarily enhance objects.

Hoari’s moral compass points to the opposite direction to that of Tukino and Porangi. He often questions orders, which leads to him being ridiculed by his peers. Hoari is usually tricked into committing atrocities that the other two wouldn’t hesitate to partake in.

Good custom mask ideas, it is always welcome to have more powers in use.

HUGE fan of these. I’ve always wanted to try a smaller scale with my Toa, and the custom masks and backstory quirks are awesome. Keep up the great work!

Those guys are surprisingly well-built for their size! I especially like how you used the Nektann spine piece on Tukino!

Thank you so much!

The designs and the idea behind this are amazing and I love what you’ve got going on so far!
I think the only thing that’s holding this back from going to the next level is that most of the mocs seem to be using the same, or very similar, frames and proportions. If you were to differentiate the various proportions a little bit and give the characters more variety in their silhouettes, it would take it to the next level.

Thanks! I intended for them to look similar, Tukino and Porangi were heavily based off of Hoari’s build. Hell, I gave them the exact same sword. I don’t think I’ll drastically change their builds in the future, maybe just the limbs

MOCs are pretty solid, though you could use some tires on those bones without shells. You need to work on your posing a bit more, though, cause they just look awkward in a lot of these pictures.

Posing and angling has always been frustrating for me, could never figure it out with all my mocs. A pose looks decent when I see it from my point of view, but looks awkward from the angle that I take the shot from. Any thoughts on how I could improve on that?

And maybe someday, I’ll overhaul on tires so my mocs don’t look like skeletons, until then I can only dream…

Really the only thing I can say is try to model them after positions that real humans would take. Possibly exaggerate the movements and angles that do occur.
