Yet another online bulk lot. What did I find in here?
Hydraxon and Carapar! Hydraxon is missing his breathing tubes and fingernails, but is otherwise complete. He’s really cool, I like how he’s absolutely loaded with blades and weapons - which can be easily removed if they get in the way. The fingers are awesome, they add a lot of personality to the figure.
Carapar is really nice too. I like how solid he is and the color scheme is awesome.
I’ve seen a lot of criticism for squid launchers, and I can confirm that it sucks. I do manage to launch it most of the time, but it’s difficult and aiming is pretty much impossible. I also don’t like how rubbery the launcher itself is, it doesn’t feel nice to handle and the connector axle is rather loose.
The Cordak blasters were a pleasant surprise, though. It’s not always a perfect shot, but they fire pretty consistently and the revolving barrel is interesting. I still think they’re too bulky and don’t really fit the Bionicle aesthetic, but at least they’re fun!
Gahlok, my second Tahnok, and Vorahk.
Four Toa! These weren’t completely included in the lot, but their special pieces (masks, weapons, some limbs) were. Combined them with my own pieces to make these complete figures.
Norik, my first Rahaga! No Rhotuka, but he’s really adorable because of how smol and kinda dumb looking he is.
Another highlight: Nuparu and the dead guy, still sealed! No canisters, but their bags are unopened. The breathing tubes (which came loose in the can) are missing, but the other loose parts are present. I didn’t open and build them yet, but I’ll definitely do that later. These feel really special because I never had any sealed Bionicle thing in my hands yet.
One of the Toa Mata cans, missing the outer sleeve and pretty sun faded, plus instructions for most of the sets I’ve shown here. These were all crammed into the can and have presumably been there for a few years, so naturally they always want to curl back into their rolled-up state. I currently have them laying under some heavy books, leaving them there for a week or two usually helps to get them flattened again.
Extra pieces and masks. Most of Hewkii and Tahu Mata in here, I used some of their pieces to add onto the incomplete copies I already had.
This was another bulk lot that turned out to be much more awesome than expected, especially at its price - a whopping 23 bucks!
The pieces did need a wash after I got them, most were quite dusty. Concerningly many pieces also had some stuff on them that I think was ancient playdoh stains. Still, this was worth every cent!
