I have been eating meatball subs for 4 years and it still gets messy, but i’ve acquired a technique to minimize the mess; slowly press the meatballs against the side of the bun without damaging the bread, get a soft but firm grip on the bun (placing most pressure against the end) and eat.
You open your mouth.
You put the sub in your mouth.
You close your mouth.
You chew.
