Smith cursed under his breath and continued following.
Ryan knocks on the door to the abandoned warehouse and the door opens a crack. Ryan flashes the man his ID. The man nods and opens the door. “Bringing someone in with you today I see. I hope he’s trustworthy. I don’t think our patron would be to happy with the knowledge of this getting out.” The man at the door says. “This is our patron, Gregor.” Ryan says back. “Ah, well then come right in” Gregor says, then steps to the side and gestures for them to go in. The inside looked just like you’d expect, a large, empty space with rusted walls and a patchy roof. The only thing that looked remotely out of place was the strange lock on the floor in one of the corners. Ryan went over to the lock and pulled a small key out of his lab coat. He used the key to unlock the lock, put the password into the second lock and opened the trap door that they had been holding in place. “After you, Mr. Smith” Ryan says, gesturing towards the open trap door.
Smith Looked to Ryan he never spoke a word, but you could tell he was disgusted by the idea of you keeping his Project Down there. But despite this he descended muttering the whole way down.
Ryan smiled. He loved annoying his family. He followed Smith down onto the spiral staircase. It was an industrial metal staircase, very minimalistic. From the staircase, you could see the secondary lab, or as the scientists and engineers who worked down here called it, the “big lab” as it had to be at least 30 ft tall with massive industrial electric lights hanging from it. This was the biggest secret that Ryan was aware of. Only the people who worked in it and a select few government officials and rich patrons were aloud to see it. The rest of the room must have been at least 45 meters wide and nearly twice as long. It was a surprise no one had accidentally discovered it yet. On the floor of the room was the heavy machinery to big to fit in the regular lab. Infact, everything I the room seemed to be supersized. Massive desks that spanned for a third of the wall. Massive filing cabinets for notes. And of course, the giant EMP emitter in the middle of the room. Until this project, the lab hadn’t been used at this capacity for at least 12 years, back when Ryan had first joined the lab. Down on the floor was a buzz of activity, as the workers and the instructors worked on the finishing touches on EMPTE as Ryan had dubbed it. Ryan was the chief engineer of this project, which was an incredible honor, and it was his first really big project. When Ryan got to the bottom of the stairs, a small wiry woman who looked as if she were a hundred years old stepped up to them. “Ah Ryan we weren’t expecting you until…” she looked down at her watch
OOC: what time is it now?
The time reads 11:53
“12 o-clock” she finishes. “Hey, is that chief engineer Ura?” One of the other engineers asks.
“Yes, it is.” Ryan replies. “Is there a problem?” Ryan asks the engineer. “Oh no, not at all, I was just wondering if you’d like to put the final touches on, we’ve just got to paint the name on now. Also, who is that that’s with you?” The engineer replies. “This is our generous patron, and, perhaps we should let him do the honor. The outline of the name is all there, you just have to paint in the lines. I’ve got to install this battery. Julia, would you mind helping me with this?” He turns to the old lady. “Of course I will” she replies.
Smith grabbed a paintbrush and Carefully painted the words Empte on the side of the device before backing up and taking a look at his handy work, he had, after all created this.
While smith was doing that, Ryan and Julia installed the battery from Enzo. “So, where did you get such a powerful battery anyway?” Julia asks Ryan. “A man named Enzo Bends gave it to me. It’s his life’s work, quite impressive, don’t you think.” Ryan replied. Julia nods. Once they finish installing the battery, Ryan steps back to admire their work. They had, after all, created this.
A second door on the other end of the room opens, and another man steps out. He wears the same uniform, but his is unbuttoned and stained. He curls his lip at the group.
“Was zur Hölle denkst du, machst du hier, Viscount?” He speaks perfect german. Adele takes a moment, and then replies in significantly more broken german.
“Warum so feindlich? Wir sind Verbündete. Wir brauchen Vorräte.”
“Welche Art?”
Adele turns to Nessuno.
“He wants to know what kind of supplies we need.”
“Tell him we need 5 Disguises grappling hooks and firearms.” Alexander would’ve told him these things but alas his had become German a bit rusty and his Italian was significantly stronger in its place
Adele communicates this to the man.
“Wozu?”
“Das Übliche.”
“Aber so viele?” He frowns at the group.
“Es ist nur ein Job.”
He pauses, seeming to deliberate. Then he turned to the group and spoke one word in heavily accented, broken English.
“Come.” He disappears into the hallway, followed by the other man.
Alexander follows
Dr. Agler follows as well. He knows a little bit of German and Italian (among a few others) but can’t speak any of them particularly well.
George managed to find a few of the things needed, some sheet metal, rivets and some tubing. He looked at the drawing he made and crafted a turbine to push the water with extreme forces. Then he started bending the metal to form a housing for this turbine, to conplete it he needed sealant to avoid losing power “Have you found any sealant?” He asked James @TheCobaltCorsair , while waiting for an answer he started bending the tubing to the right shape and welding it toghether.
“Yes. Here it is,” James said, as he handed George the sealant.
“Thanks” he cut some plates out of the sheet metal and, after applying a thick layer of sealant he bolted and rivetted the plates to the housing. He welded the tubing to the housing and attached a connector to the side of the pump. “Now we need gears. When it’s finished we will need to put it in a water tank and cut two holes in it: one for driving the pump, the other for the water output and then seal those holes really well” He said to james @TheCobaltCorsair
“So, Smith, shall we take this thing out for a test?” Ryan looks Down at his watch.
The time reads 11:55 am
“Absolutely.”
“Great! What exactly should we test it on? And where? Also, what exactly is the purpose of this?”
Smith dug into his pocket and pulled out a small device, it let off a dim glow. “This should do nicely, and as for where we should test it I feel here would be best.”
“That is for me to know and you to find out.”
