I think it may be one of those situations where Lego understand the concept is ridiculous, so rather than pass it off as something serious, they’ll start it as a heavily comedic show to draw in viewers and then attempt to add more layers of story later on if the show were to be given more seasons.

It had promise… It was so young.
If by some luck the show is good, I’ll dance for joy.
If it’s bad, hopefully LEGO will take the hint that Derevlany isn’t the man they need.
Basically they show a sheild on the bottom of the screen which you can scan with the app.

Pretty sure ‘cross platform’ could refer to just games, website, app, books and a TV series. Maybe a cameo in Ninjago or Bionicle via the ‘realms’ to boost sales a little.
