you know just because it’s a writer from chima does not mean it’ll be bad
That’s true enough. The fact that it’s the writer from Chima gives me a very low expectation of the series. I could very well be wrong though.
Kapura’d*
I never watched Chima, so I am indifferent. I’ll still watch the show, maybe.
So, the writer from Chima?
No.
This better not flop harder than the SW Prequels, the SMB (Super Mario Bros) movie, and F4 2k15 combined.
(On the other hand, the show looks promising enough. the characters are at least more solid than Chima, so that’s OK.)
Chima writer.
Huh. Okay.
runs out crying
as you can see i am totally overreacting
oveeeeeeer reeeeeeaaaaaaaactioooooooon
Oh yeah, sorry Vuhii. I think the show should be fine. A writer can improve herself, and, well, it looks promising. Maybe I should’ve used the /s symbol to signify a joke.

Huh.
Yeah… It’s gonna be one of those lines.
Let’s just hope he’s learned to not force humor and convoluted moral messages.
Oh no! The tiny barcodes on the bricks strike again! AppLego has infiltrated Nexo Knights!
Some lovely info found by @CM4Sci ! (Seriously man, share your technique.)
Don’t share this anywhere, but my technique is…
…lots and lots of searching!
inspect element + google search confirmed
I know this is beating a dead horse n’ all, but since I’ve been called out about it on TTV, I figure that I might as well rectify what many of you have considered an unfair comparison on my part.

VS

Now that we’re on even ground quality-wise(I literally could not find a picture of this scene on google images, so I took a screenshot on netflix), I stand by my earlier statement. The Nexo Knights guys look a lot cheesier than the Stone Army, despite being pretty much the same concept.(Rocky red monster guys with angry, toothy faces).
Why are they balls? Really! What kind of character design is that? Maybe I just don’t get it; I didn’t ever like goofiness as an aesthetic choice. The bigger guys look somewhat alright, but I’m still not a huge fan of them either.
Is that better, Eljay, Slime, Nyran, and everyone else that got on my case earlier?
100% better. Great job finding that, sincerely.
Sort of. I won’t deny that the Balls look a lot goofier than the Stone Army guys. However, if Jestro is the one behind creating/awakening these lava creatures, wouldn’t it make sense that they’d look a little goofy? I mean, goofy jokes are kinda a jester’s thing.
I suppose, but if I was a jester that was cast out of society and driven to madness, I’d probably make them sort of… Parodies of the people that cast me out? Like maybe a lava king that has to pull a chariot for his servants, or perhaps a horse headed beast that rides a giant knight.
Or even simpler(and lazier), just base them off myself. They could all have an evil jester-like appearance.
yeah, but from Jestro’s character video, the inside of the BoM is shown for a brief second, and in it there are pictures of the monsters, so its not Jestro who is making them look like this, thats how the monsters look.

also the Book’s title as the “book of monsters” make me think of both this book:

and this book

i would probably found the BoM a bit more scary if this happend when Jestro first reads it

On an interesting note, those shot’s lighting quality are both about the same. I remember earlier that everyone was getting on Nexo knight’s case about the bad shading, but the only difference here is that NN has more highlighted stuff. I guess it just depends on what shot they compare it to.
However, I do agree that goofy is not a good thing. That’s why I always hated the bonezai skullkin: his goofy expression irked me.
Also, @DarkHenrik, nice use of the necronomicon. I hadn’t thought of that.
New videos. Still don’t really like the lighting. Good Jestro pops out way too much, and it’s not the azure talking.
Also Merlok 2.0 but who cares
I know I’ve been nothing but a downer when it comes to this theme, but…
Yeah, I’m not liking these either. ![]()
Jestro looks like he’s gonna another Cragger situation; where you empathize more with the “bad” guy than any of the goody two-shoes heroes.
The book of monsters looks like it’s going to be a talking thing more than a character, so I don’t think there’s going to be any actual personality going on there. Just a constant urge to make monsters. Might’ve worked, was his voice not kind of obnoxious.
Also, I can’t tell if Merlock 2.0 is actually going to be a character or what. I don’t think he’s talked in any of the trailers or anything.
