I’d say a great starting set is ‘Clay’s Rumble Blade’, which was mine. Great selection of minifigures, reasonable price, and an awesome vehicle which can be separated into 4 different components which makes it feel like multiple smaller sets
The set is on the lower end of the series’ prices, as well.
Yeah, I love the versatility. It’s really just an awesome set in almost every aspect.
@Shadower If you can only afford cheaper sets, definitely go with Lance’s Mecha Horse. Is it a horse? Is it a motorcycle? Who knows! You’ll be too distracted by the fine specimen manning the machine.
I say get General Magmar’s Siege Machine of Doom if you have the funds for it. If not, definitely try the Mecha horse (great set…build is fun, features are excellent), or Moltors Lava Smasher
There are a few minifigures in that set. One is an absolutely fine specimen.
The other is Lance Richmond.
Ouch, that’s gotta sting. XD
On side note, I’ve never really cared about minifigures all that much when I buy sets, because I usually buy them for the main build, not to say I don’t think minifigures look cool or fantastic. They’re just not my main draw to buying a set, y’know? The Knights are just too darn beautiful though, and I’ve been tempted to go against my own philosophy several times.
I’m like, the total opposite because I have a stupid obsession with completing a set or series of figures
Like, I need to get all 6 of the Ninja in Ninjago if they get a new team outfit
fortunately though, I already got all 5 of the Knights last wave
so I can be more choosy this wave.
Lance is my favorite knight…
That’s what I want to do now that I started watching Rebooted XD
I’m still missing Macy.
RIP
You should, they’re really well detailed, and I love how they pulled off how the layered armor reveals their family crest.
I’m not!
Honestly, I think everyone should at the very least try to buy all of their signature vehicles. It’s just not right to have a character without their favorite mode of transportation.
I would, but for me I’ve decided to go with something else:
Clay: Motorcycle from The Fortrex (which is an awesome set that deserves to be played with more than it does collecting dust on my shelf ).
Macy: Hover Horse
Lance: Hover Horse
Aaron: Hover Horse or Shield (most often the shield)
Axl: … The back of the Fortrex? (I don’t have a vehicle for him yet)
That’s like only getting Batman a Batscooter and a Batcave instead of his iconic Batmobile. I especially encourage you to get all of their vehicles because they’re always using them in the show. They’re a big part of their characters now.
Are there reviews of Aaron’s jet?
I plan on buying every set from the line, so I’m definitely gonna try
But… Money…
In all seriousness, I do really want to get the Mecha Horse, if only just for Dennis.
While the vehicles are a huge staple for the knights, I just feel content with the small vehicles (like the hover horse) and the Fortrex. Both the hover horse and the Fortrex have become huge staples of the line, and while I don’t think I will be able to get all of the hover horses, at least I have some substitutes for the Knights of the Fortrex.
even though i don’t like Nexo Knight i still try to get some of the sets, but only those i feel looks the best, whats funny is that all of the sets that have named monsters and magic books are the sets that i would buy, which does not include the dum mecha horse, the mace bike, the jet crossbow and the the sword tank/jet.
though to be honest, i do wonder what mech would win in a fight, which includes the mechs from Ninjago, Chima and Nexo Knight, though i know that the knight mech would lose, more or less because the king is not a mech pilot.
there is also another thing which i would have done if i wrote for Nexo Knight… having some of the monsters be like what they are in power rangers or any of the other costumed super heroes.
basicly, instead of having the Nexo Powers being a one hit kill for all the monsters, i would have the monsters be able to be killed of by the normal weapons, not only that, but i would not have the monsters be just taken back into the book of monsters once they are defeated, instead have them be notable monster figures that are released by Jestro and the book of monsters. Thus instead of being sent back into the book of monsters once they are defeated, they would actualy die when the Nexo Knights defeat them, but that does not mean that they should be one off monsters, but instead they flee from most of the fights in the series and they could instead die at some later points in the story, thus Jestro and the Book of Monsters can only create foot soldiers like the Globlins, Scurriers and the humanoid lava monsters.
now what about the Nexo Powers? i would have them be lost, thus the Nexo Knights would need to look for them or they would need time to fix them, instead of having the nexo powers be ready for use, thus the knights are not as over powerd as they are in the tv series.
While I do agree, some can’t afford to do that. I use Clay’s Rumble Blade to hold Clay, Macy and Aaron, and use hover horses for the other 2. Though it would be nice to have lance’s horse and a smaller vehicle for Axl.
There’s always that little part in me that despises anything medieval-themed…it just feels so mudane. However, I love the Nexo Knights minifig and set designs but hate the setting so…so…much. Futuristic themes are always my cup of tea…and if this line took place in a more spacier/futuristic setting, this would’ve been my favorite line.
I like to think of it as a futuristic society that progressed so much that they hadnt gotten rid of knight culture yet. So in that way its really not medieval themed, on the other hand, they have flying horses and medieval weapons, and cars the look like weapons.
So it really depends on how you make yourself see it.
For instance you can look at the knights vs the lava monsters as being a futuristic society destroying the remnants of a medieval time, since thats when the monsters last appeared.
Just like you, actually. I’m so glad they all came in 2 sets total this summer, b/c these have to be my favorite suits. But then there’s money limitation…
On the other hand, newest episodes of the show good? Some of us (myself included) have to wait until they’re uploaded onto external sites like KissCartoon.
That’s basically what it is. It’s just a culture that continued to use monarchs, rather than opting to switch out and try different forms of government because of disgruntled masses usually wanting to overthrow oppressive tyrants. In their world, the masses have great quality of life and no real reason to be disgruntled. It’s no different from the countries we see today with dictators, except the King isn’t power hungry and has a moral code and love for his people. He’s a pretty chill dude. They can still produce technological advancements, and perhaps if every king for each generation here on Earth were benevolent and caring towards their subjects and promoted our right to freely choose who we are, we’d have a culture similar to the one we see in Nexo Knights.
