It’s actually pretty nice, although the articulation could be better.
I liked that one!
We obviously don’t share the same tastes, and I’m starting to think that this less about functionality for you, and more about design bias.
Why on earth would you put the minifigure in the head? That’s a stupid idea.
Like, I’m not saying they should stop making Western stylized mechs, I’m just saying that also making a few Eastern stylized mechs every now and then for people that prefer that aesthetic would also be appreciated. Honestly, I thought the Skells in Xenoblade Chronicles X were a good fusion between Western and Eastern styles. I want something like that.
imo i don’t mind the fact that mechs don’t have any head
it’s just that lego’s mechs are ALWAYS the same short,stupid-looking stumpy thing with huge hands and a super awkardly exposed pilot and it’s getting really annoying
like
i’d love it if lego would make good looking mechs for once
mechs with proper posability and not 2 joints.
purple villieans YUS Nexo knights really seems like the theme for me.
so while we are on the debate with mechs, which one of these mech designs do you guys find the most pleasing (and by the way, please don’t dislike the chima mechs, just because they are from Legends of Chima)
the Stealth Hunter from Exo-Force
the Samurai X mech
Icebite’s Claw Driller
Halbert’s mech
(given the design, i bet this would be the most likely design choice for the 2017 mechs)
now i would just like to say that i was originaly going to post all of the mechs… but the problem is that there just to many mechs from the past themes that its to much.
The samurai mech is by far my favorite. The stealth hunter is close second.
I still think the exo force mech are the best. with those thing you don’t have to worry about stuff poping off. the joints are also really good and much better then sets with only 2 joints
each design appeals to me about equally
the chima one actually gets extra points for the weapons it has
Actually, quite the opposite. Exo Force mecha are infamous for fragility. Not the limbs that fall off, but the torsos were prone to crumbling.
The King’s Mech. The only issue I have with it is the mandatory splitting function, and even that is better executed than most.
All four mechs have different qualities that I enjoy, though I’m more inclined to dislike the Exo-Force and Chime ones for the former’s flimsy looking everything and the latter for the concept of the mech (Not trying to say it’s bad, though. I’m just not a fan of animal-themed shtuff.)
The Ninjago and NK sets are my preferred styles of mechs. The Samurai X Mech is pretty sturdy and looks nice, while the King’s Mech looks great and has a more than fantastic build.
I like the King’s Mech the most. The minifigure is secure and protected by what seems like a metal frame rather than a stupid sheet of glass. It also has a head of sorts what with the visor. I like heads because they add personality to the mech. The Samuari Mech was also really cool.
That said, I’d prefer LEGO make mechs that are more sleek and less blocky.
this is the general reason why i think the “King’s mech” and the Black Knight mech’s cockpit design will be used for future Nexo Knight mechs, because the visor helmet works in the same manner as that of a knight helmet (just look at the Black Knight’s visor).
I don’t care, I am just glad that piece keeps getting re-used.
#HFG2
I really like the King’s mech, mostly for the beautiful legs, however I’d still say I prefer the design of the exo-force mechs, ignoring the candy glass fragility.
Also why do so many of Lego’s recent mechs have incredibly ugly arms?
Are we going to ignore the fact that we get shield mask packs?
The prelims are out now. Check /r/ Lego.
Uhhh… hmm… I’m not exactly sure how I feel about the 2017 wave after seeing the prelims…
Like, the mech things are coolish (still wish they had some type of mech helmet/head. Having your own head exposed is just stupid), but the vehicles with the printed faces just look so… yuck. The plane or whatever looks kind of messy too…
It does make me happy that I’ll most likely only be buying the small mechs. Makes my budget have more room for Ninjago.
Just check instagram. Much easier. Personally, I think the mechs are atrocious. The weapons look absolutely ridiculous, like the first wave of CCBS Chima figures, and the proportions are bizarre, especially the arms. For the other sets, the differences with CM4Sci’s drawings are minimal, and not really worth discussion.
