The Nexo Knights Topic

I honestly don’t know what most of you guys are complaining about.

The mechs, although small in size and could even be consider “clones” of one another, look pretty cool, with tons of useful pieces in each one. My only real complaint with these guys are their hands, which I’ll admit are way too big for the mechs.

The vehicles are actually pretty legit imo. Yeah, they might not be the most flashy things in the world (definitely not as much as this year’s winter wave), but eh, I still enjoy 'um.

I wouldn’t say that it inspired the design of these mechs, since it’s a pretty simple concept to have somebody’s head poke out of a mechanical body. Besides, NK’s doing it quite a ways better.

Oh, I love the pieces, but they just look rather awkward for the most part. On the positive side, people who wanted Ultimate Axl but didn’t feel the Ultimates were worth it can get him with his mech now.

Those wheel pieces :open_mouth: I found my new pedestal

Wow, Lance’s vehicle seems a lot smaller than I was expecting… I thought it was £20?

I like Clay’s the best, though I likely won’t get it due to the price.

Jestro’s thing looks… stupid with that face imo, but the rest is nice.

Triple-Rocker is pretty cool, might get that.

Ruina’s vehicle is disappointing, though I don’t know what I was expecting.

I’ll admit the action sets look weird and kind of lame, but with a few modifications I think they could look pretty neat. I made a mock-up of what I was expecting earlier which I may post.

Overall, a ‘meh’ wave for me, though I think over time I may warm up to these sets like I have done with every other Lego wave that I look at the leaks early with…

Oh, also, trans-visors are cool, but I’d love if the knights also came with different prints to this year.

I’m wondering if the eyes used for the MoMoMo are actually printed on a 2x2 round tile as a simple U shape. That’d be remarkably useful.

EDIT: You know, the Triple Rocker appears to be firing balljoints. Wonder whether they’re going to keep the globlins.

I think that action sets look pretty nice. Could be better, but still nice. I would definitely get one or two, I like them.
I’m not buying Lego system sets that much, cuz I am more of an action figure guy, so I only buy Mixels, but now I would get some Nexos, because now they’re larger and more articulated. My format.
And they remind me something from around 2004 somehow. Nostalgic about 2004.

Is there any information about release date?

Its certainly a mystery.

I wonder if it will be the same date as it always is, January first, when all of the new 2017 winter sets come out.

It would be nice, because then sets would be available in mid December.

Am I the only one who’s planning to use the new triple-shield pieces to create hexagonal tiling?

im only planning on getting the nexo knight mechs so that i can use them for my Photo Comic when i can finely make it again.

I MIGHT get some of the other sets… might being the key word here, it all depends on space.

I’m still holding out hope for nexo knight ccbs some point in the future, I just hope the line is popular enough to last.
It seems to me that nexo knights and ninjago have fairly separate fanbases, so here’s hoping there’s enough untapped consumers to make up for that.

So I just looked at the leak and uh yeah… I did notice that the elemental flame piece is used in trans blue and light blue so thats cool.

I personally doubt it, because the last attempt at a “two layer” Lego line, was Chima, and I still see some of those Ultrabuilds at stores. Lego, as of now, likely doesn’t have much financial reason to make several new sets each wave for a very niche part of the community, especially when the system sets are selling pretty well.

I can’t find the leaks… I guess I will have to wait for official pictures.

Chima as a whole sold poorly, It’s not really a fair comparison imo.

Well, it’s the only example we have to go off of, unless if I’m forgetting another theme that had separate CCBS and system lines.

Well I mean

Bionicle had playsets for a solid 3 years

but since the constraction was the focus of the line

it’s hardly comparable.

… Star Wars?

It’s also been 9 years, a lot involving Lego has happened in that time, including the Lego Movie (which was overall advertising system), and the general acquiring of my licensed themes.

That may be a result of the licensing bringing the large majority of the popularity, however. There’s too many variables to definitively say it’d work or it wouldn’t. I think Nexo Knights needs to get a more stable grounding in the community before they try it, because, as you said:

Actually, that’s a new lightning bolt piece according to CM4Sci, and in the pictures it does look pretty different from the Ninjago blade. More jagged and thinner.
