The Nexo Knights Topic

@DraikNova Its definitly just the piece in tahu’s swords in blue

I think my problem with these sets is that they are really blocky

Oh, those. I thought you meant the little spikes, not the big ones.

Tbh the new mechs feel like a Mixels replacement or successor, like they just wanted to continue the joint system somehow.

well the appearance of Monstrox have been revealed.

Behold! The mighty, arch necromancer, MONSTROX!!!

Well @Folk now you have him to draw too for your Nexo Knight artwork.

Monstrox is actualy the one thing i like with Nexo Knight, because, well, he is basicly one of the most evil and menacing looking LEGO villains to exist currently, that and the things he do in the final episode of season 2 (i have manadge to see the russian dubbed version, so i sort of know what will happend now) trully adds more to his nature, i think he might even be more evil and malovant than Overlord actualy.

Seeing some discrepancies as to whether it is Monstrox or Monstrux.

Forgive me if i am late to this, but just to catch up and see where everyone is;

Potential image of Monstrox’s human form from ‘The book of Monsters’

  • Monstrox is the necromancer who caused Merlock to see all the evil in books as a ‘last resort’ to defend the kingdom
  • Monstrox and his army were sealed in books
  • The Book of Monsters is Monstrox, who consumes the other books to gain power
  • Monstrox attempted to free himself at the end of season 2 by taking over ‘Clay’, however was seemingly defeated before this
  • Monstrox however was not defeated, but instead freed from his book imprisonment as shown via his face appearing in the fireworks
  • Its possible Jestro could be the only one who see’s Monstrox OR that Monstrox is still linked to Jestro OR simply that the others didn’t notice the face in the clouds

So its very likely that Monstrox will be the main villain of Season three with the group having to team up and work with Jestro (probably training him up to fight as a Knight with them) as they’ll have to face a reborn Monstrox and his army.

Alternatively it’ll be cancelled like Bionicle…

Once again, the colour schemes are what i feel is unfortunate the deciding factor in my view on the sets. They have some cool new pieces and some are great sets, including the large rolling set which appears to be an updated version of a Power Miners set, though with those colours I’m not interested in buying any of them.

I purchase sets mostly for re-usability or MOC’ing and i don’t have many (if any) other pieces in the primary colour scheme - so these are all a pass.

I for one really like the new sets, the builds look good-great and the colors work well.

I actually really like the purple/grey colour scheme for the villains, and the trans-orange visors don’t bother me like I thought they would.

It’s uh, the same stuff. With different colors and new figs.

None of these stand out to me at all. I like the cooler color ■■■■■, but they’re all kind of GENERIC MONSTER MASHER vs. COOL GOOD GUY COCKPIT MOBILE.

That “rogue” fig looks pretty snazzy though.

Dude…

Wow

Those are really neat!

The new parts look amazing, and none of the sets look particularly bad.

Loving these. All of them, except perhaps the weird plastic sheet wings on the new golem monster.

Not gonna lie, if I got many System sets, these would be way on up there. Looks like a really strong lineup, especially with the lightning theme for the antagonists.

The weird sorcerer type villain in the second picture also seems to have a new leg replacement which looks :ok_hand:

I’m definitely picking up a few of these.

The new mining sub-theme looks great, sad I don’t have room beside the mech…

Wow. I gotta say, I am impressed! I really like these sets! These are a big upgrade from this year’s sets. My favorite is Ruina’s Cage Rollel and Jestro’s Monstrous Monster Vechile ( Lol ) And also those Battle armor suits those look really cool! Having a very strong Exo-force vibe and I loved Exo-force! I’m gonna pick up one or two sets of the New wave. Also Jestro’s body was possessed by the evil books.

Gee, those monster things look hideous…(with maybe the exception of 70350)
And the Knights’ vehicles look all the same, just as last year.

So yeah, I think they suck .

Gotta purchase 'em all.

now, like last time, the only thing that interest me with Nexo Knight is the cool looking monster designs. I am seriously planning on getting some of these sets simply for the monsters, plus the mech suits. Also as someone mention on Just2good’s video of the Nexo Knight 2017 sets, is that the they sort of look like they are based on LEGO Ice Planet, they sort of have a similar color idea from some of the sets

speaking of Just2good:

just if your all interested in seeing his opinion on them

Now, there are however one set which i find to be sort of like a copy of a past Nexo Knight set:

i mean… come on, its the same consept here, just with a different monster having captured the queen. Heck, Infernox did not even make an appearance in the show.

also, it seem that my personal though for the monster vehicles in 2016 being alive is going to be used in the 2017 sets, given how “The Three Brothers” seems to be refering to the large vehicels as the third brother for Reex and Roog.

Rogul is also another cool looking monster that im thinking on getting.

also, in refrence to the mech suits, i personaly see them more as being like the R.Y.N.O mech suits from Ratchet and Clank: All4One:

Now, the last thing i will say is about Jestro’s inclusion in the 2017 sets, but i will hide it because it goes into stuff that happends in the tv series, and i don’t want to spoil it for anyone who has not seen it yet. so before you go into it, be warned that there are spoilers here.

[details=Summary] Ok, so. In the final episode of Nexo Knight season 2, Jestro was restored back to normal and rejoined the knights, the reason for this was because the Book of Monsters aka Monstrox wanted to use Jestro as a vessel so that he could be restored back to what he was before Merlok broke him into the evil books. Jestro however was saved this fate by Clay, who traded for Jestro’s freedom by giving Monstrox the final book he needed for his return, the book of betrayal. However, Monstrox being the villain that he is, he instead had Clay swap place with Jestro, and thus would use him as the vessel for his return instead. Jestro thus aided the Nexo Knights in saving Clay and prevent Monstrox’s return, though its made clear in the ending that Monstrox is far from gone.

Now the main problem i have is that by the looks of it, it seems that Jestro will re-join Monstrox in 2017, thus it kind of ruins his redemtion in the final episode of season 2, it would be like if Garmadon or Cragger returned back to their evil ways rather than staying good. Plus given what happend in the end of the Nexo Knight app game, it seems like Jestro’s redemtion might have been a show thing only and as far as the LEGO theme was consernd, Jestro continued to be evil.

however there is one thing that might save this, because after taking a closer look at Jestro:

He seems to have been turned into some kind of zombie or something given the coloration of his skin, thus its possible that he might have been transformed into a monstrus minion by Monstrox against his will. I only hope that Jestro does not rejoin Monstrox by his own free will and just forgets all of the bad stuff that he did to him in season 1 and 2 of Nexo Knight.[/details]

oh, and also it looks like the Monsters for 2017, might actualy be animated rock statues based on some of the things we see in the background, rather than the elemental monsters that were summond from the book of Monsters in 2016.

You mean they have a cohesive color scheme.
