I mean… I’d like molds that look exactly like that, at that same size…

But pieces like that were what nearly killed LEGO in '03. Those wings would just be large lumps of plastic that could only work as one thing.

You assume I care? All I care about is having amazing parts to MOC with. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well

They wouldn’t be very amazing

If they had one predefined purpose

you mean something like what LEGO did with their LEGO Harry Potter theme?

only with vehicles?

They’d be amazing for MOCs that need that predefined purpose. We still use the “bat” wing piece that connects with an axle , I don’t see how this would be any different. It’s not like LEGO doesn’t still make specialized molds, they just keep it to a minimum. I want that mold to be part of that minimum, because it’d be great for constraction MOCs.

There’s a pretty drastic difference between thin bat wings that could be used for multiple types of MOCs and giant lumps of plastic shaped and detailed to look like realistic wings that can serve one and only one purpose.

Not really, honestly. They’d be solid, likely unpainted lumps. They’d like parts to an action figure.

It’d be much easier just to make wings using thin plastic or actual parts, as these can be easily customized, not weigh a ton, and wouldn’t be very expensive. Bare in mind how difficult it would be to make a giant wing piece that a joint can still support.

Guys… just let me have this. it’s not like me wanting a piece exactly like that is doing harm to you. Right now you’re kiiind of opinion shaming, and it seems to be just because you don’t like specialized parts. Like, I get that, and I understand your position, but there’s no need to “correct” what I like.

Like, you’re acting as if LEGO will see my comment and decide: “Oh, this one random dude on the internet wants this, better go against our business practices and start mass producing pieces like that!”

Look man, you already shared your opinion on my opinion. That was fine and dandy. The thing is, even after I clarified that it was just a personal preference and that I wasn’t speaking from a practical viewpoint, everyone persisted. Like, from a business perspective I can agree with you, but it doesn’t mean that I still won’t like specialized parts. That’s just my personal preference. Nothing wrong with either viewpoint. There’s a line between sharing a counter opinion, and trying to make someone else change their opinion.

So, in other words, we can’t disagree with your opinion. Okay.

I’m kind of curious if we’ll be getting a set that’s similar to Merlok’s library that will connect to the Fortrex. It could give new life to an already sweet set.

Isn’t the point of a Message Boards to share and discuss opinions?

The same thing could be said for any opinion on this entire boards, but that doesn’t mean we must agree. Nothing is wrong with disagreeing with something as long as you’re logical and not rude about it.

The only snag is figuring out how it will connect. I don’t want the same thing over and over again, but unfortunately the Fortrex wasn’t designed to be modular. The idea would be amazing though.

How do you think expansions for Jestro’s lair would work?

I get you don’t like sound arguments against your opinion, but seriously. Having giant pieces of plastic for one particular purpose would be expensive and going against the fundamental principles of the company itself. The piece itself wouldn’t be too amazing either, as it’d only be two of an expensive pair of wings found in one large set, at one, set scale. Dunno how you see that as a good MOCing piece, but that’s just me.

I’ve never gotten a NK set, but some of them look really good.

Seeing how the whole left part of the lair can disconnect and connect with another segment that shares the connection, I think it’s more than possible for it to get an expansion. I guess the only issue would be clashing styles, since the purple and trans. blue might look a little odd next to Jestro’s lair’s trans. orange and red.

I’m not trying to change your opinion. I’m just throwing my differing thoughts into the kettle. Nowhere in any of my posts did I say “You need to change your opinion because it’s wrong.” All I did was give my take on why I think it wouldn’t work out too well, as did Joe.

I’m perfectly fine with sound arguments, and like I’ve said again and again, my opinion is a very impractical one. That’s the thing though. I never said it wasn’t.

Sigh

heresy!

You should really get one, they’re some of the best yet without costing as much as Star Wars :stuck_out_tongue:

We assume they’re totally done with those colors, I wouldn’t be too surprised if they still introduced some volcanic sets (given that we really don’t know what the change in scenery is all about yet).

I’d like to know where exactly I mentioned that you must change your opinion to match ours. I’m reading over these posts again, and I don’t see it at all.

something that i find lame about Jestro and Monstrox’s HQ, is that unlike the Evil Mobile the HQ, look more simple in design, and does not look like a HQ, but a cargo vehicle that carries a large head sculpture of Jestro’s face.

Oh and after having taken a closer look at Jestro’s face… i think its transparent.

hmm… seems like the baby blue on his body might actualy be the lightning from Monstrox flowing through him.

But you haven’t said it was.

Not that I saw, at least.

I like it because it’s just so substantial. It’s evil and it looks like it. LOTS of gimmicks sprinkled throughout, and it’s just a nice display. I also adore the idea of expanding it.

eh, to me personaly it looks more like some parade float.

with that idea in mind though… it does fit with Jestro’s jester design.

just play some carnival or circus music and it fits.
