The Pridak Incident

Whole thing kinda seems silly and yet kinda logical at the same time. I can’t decide which view I take :stuck_out_tongue:

honestly when I was a kid I didn’t think about until once I thought to myself “Hey, that kind of looks like blood. Nah! Coincidence!” then moved on. It wasn’t until I started watching the recap reviews that I started thinking about it more.

That’s funny. I never thought of it as blood… More like stain and it didn’t bother me at all.

Well, some people always overreact.

I actually can’t remember ever thinking of it as blood - and if I had seen it as blood I probably wouldn’t have cared. Child me was way more concerened with why Pridak had red eyes in some pictures while in reality he had blue ones.

If I had thought of it as blood the story I invented together with my sister might have gone a different way, though, and Pridak might have become something resembling the true character more than, well, a ballet dancer. …thinking back most of the Barraki were kinda strange in our story…

…did no one remember what Pridak did to Kalmah in the commercial? He cut off his tentacle! And blood came out!

I never did notice the blood. Funny that people got mad over the Pridak markings over that.

Blood?! Actual blood?! Quick! Call the authorities! Call all the lawyers! Sue LEGO! Get the company shut down! Something as common as blood just can’t be put into a kids toyline! The horror! /s

Is it blood, or is it ink?

It’s blood, but if you ask them, it’s ink. :stuck_out_tongue:

Time to rewrite the Kalmah bs01 entry.

Kalmah, he’s got ink in him or in his tentacle bit.

When I got Pridak, I saw it as blood. I think I even showed my parents, and they said “Gruesome” and that was about it.

When it came to him having red all over his face, I saw that as him just burying his face in the larger creature’s hide and tearing chunks out of it like a vulture.

That’s dumb. It’s also dumb that lego has to put up with those people. Could you imagine having to be Lego’s PR manager?

I wonder if there would be less of an issue if they just reversed the colours like this, making it look more like natural markings

I always just assumed the markings were blood no matter what Greg said. XD And I think it’s silly how worked up some people got about it. If you don’t want your kid playing with a toy that has blood on it, don’t buy it. Turning it into a scandal is silly. :stuck_out_tongue:

I only though of it as blood right after I read that it wasn’t supposed to be blood.

The thing is, I never really considered blood existing in bionicle.

I just…

So many memories…

Oh, right, blood.

But that short…

I thought it was blood too back in 2007. I never got the set but it still sometimes looks like blood to me.

I got my Pridak secondhand at a garage sale and thought somebody painted blood on as a cruel joke. Turns out I was wrong. Lego you should be ashamed of all the childhood shark trauma you’ve caused!
