The Sea Star. A lego pirate ship.

This is a small pirate ship moc, the Sea Star! Manned my the rascal pirate captain Rackum and his scurvy crew, the Sea Star plunders the easy pickings of the sea while out running the blue coats.

This moc was Inspired by the merchant ship from the imperial trading post.

I saw it in a TrickBrix video and have loved it ever since. It is a nice small ship, which I prefer over the bigger ships lego puts out, and it doesn’t use the pirate ship base parts from classic pirates.

I don’t like those base ship parts, I find them to be unwieldy and chunky, and I dont like how purpose built they are. The Merchant ship on the other hand is brick built, and I knew when I saw it I wanted to build my own. The Sea Star is the result of that. I wanted to make the build my own by changing the colors from the Merchant ship. I also wanted to change the sails. This resulted in the blue, white and red ship you see in front of you. A very eye catching color scheme if I do say so myself. I added I bunch of other features onto the ship I thought would be cool, but I thing they can speak for themselves in the images.

And thats it!

Thanks for reading, see ya!

But does it float?

The captain’s mess sticking out by a stud from the rest of the vessel is a little jarring. It would work better if the bottom of the stern was also sloping under, like the bow is. Still, it’s not very common to find people building classic era-accurate pirate ship MOCs these days, so impressive work.

I think the Captain is the only one here who follows a dress code :imp:
