The Third Evolution of Makuta

Well, in my Self MOC V2 topic:
http://board.ttvpodcast.com/t/oronix-makuta-of-the-third-evolution-self-moc-v2/21706

I call him the Makuta of the “Third Evolution.” I should probably explain what exactly this means.

When Thynorix, a Makuta of the Brotherhood, was captured by Artahka (during an attack), his memory was wiped entirely. Artahka then created a new body for Thynorix’s antidermis and transferred it.

This new body contained elements that would give Thynorix certain abilities. This set of powers is known as the “Third Evolution” since the Makuta have evolved twice previously. The first is when they were created, and the second was when they became antidermis.

This “Third Evolution” gives him a variety of abilities, most of which are physical attacks of their mask power. For example, an explosion with the corroding ability of a Jutlin.

Thynorix, now “Oronix” after the memory wipe is the only known Makuta of this type.

Well, there is my explanation, I hope it doesn’t confuse anyone too much.

This…
It kind of makes sense, but if he’s the only one, how is it an “evolution”?

He evolved.

Also, almost every other Makuta is dead at this point.

Oh, okay.

Hangouts, actually. I don’t know why we never use the Skype chat.

Through the new body. The transfer of his antidermis to this body was his evolution.

That’s… Not what evolution is. A being cannot evolve. A species evolves by certain genetic traits passing along to the next generation. This, like Pokemon, is more like metamorphosis.

Plus, the Makuta only “evolved” once before. They were organic until they changed into gaseous beings. They then stayed like that forever. This would be the “Second Evolution”

How were the Makuta created?

If they originated from virus cells (like Rahi), it would be the third, since they evolved from the smaller cells.

And evolution is a name in this case, there’s no reason to take the word choice that seriously…

Makuta were created from a vat of ooze(literal antidermis)

I’m not privy to the specifics but

they start out organic, then turn gas for some reason

that’s how that works as far as I know

Yes, like the viruses used to create Rahi. Based on how real-life species evolved from microbes, I consider their physical form a second evolution.

Mata Nui created them out of Antidermis. There was no life before their organic form.

The antidermis cells, perhaps?

I guess you could make an argument for that, but it’s still a pretty large leap to make.

GB magic

lets go with that

That’s like saying a sculpture evolved from clay cells.

Except clay and sculptures aren’t alive. But I’m pretty sure antidermis is.

Yes but you’re saying Mata nui creating them is an evolution.

The living antidermis cells were transformed and assembled into new living beings. I consider that transformation from one living form to another an evolution.

But they weren’t living Antidermis. They (If that’s even the right word, as there was just a material, not beings) were just a substance, like protodermis or protosteel, just made by Mata Nui instead of the Great Beings.
