Personally, I’ve never considered the idea of modifying my transformers to any degree. Though that could be just me.

Not too much, just making it look more video game accurate, and maybe weathering it. A bit like this:

If it’s just a few small paint apps, then I don’t see why not. Just be sure to be careful. And also be sure to show off the finished product when you’re done.
