So I’ve been starting to think about what I want for Christmas and for the past few years I get a BIONICLE set or two. Last Christmas I got Lhikan and Kikanalo along with Pohatu Master of Stone. This year should I try and go for Skopio X-V1 (don’t have any 09’ vehicles), Takanuva 03’ (I have all the 03’ Titans but him), Takanuva 08’ (I have a disassembled Rockoh t3), or Axonn (I have Brutaka)?

I know its only November, but its been on my mind these past couple days

So I saved up some and managed to get an eBay gift card to buy some stuff for Christmas. Along with some other stuff I decided to get a BIONICLE set though was a little stuck. I couldn’t find any Skopio XV1 within my price range so I altered it.

Should I get

• Axalara T9 (I have Rockoh T3, though it’s apart)
• Takanuva (2003)
• Maxilos and Spinax

Does it make a difference? It depends if you’re buying both at the same time, or are you buying one, then waiting for some length of time, then buying the other later?

If you’re doing the latter, I prefer Pohatu for how unique he is. So maybe you should save the best for last (getting a taste of the generic Mata build first), then be somewhat surprised for Pohatu later. Otherwise if you get Pohatu first, he’ll seem so unique n’ special, so when Onua comes around, you might get not like him as much…

Whether this is bias or not, but I’d go for Pohatu first since I found his design a lot more interesting (though I still like Onua).

Onua Mata. He has awesome shredder claws and a bull-like mask. Pohatu is far less exciting imo, but he does have an unusual build you may or may not like. Also old brown is far less reusable than black if you’re a moccer.

So since my Christmas has just ended, it’s time for me to start looking for things to spend all of that money on! Yes, all the money that your relatives gave you because they have no idea what you like. And what do you like if you are on this website in the first place? BIONICLE!!!
That’s right folks, MataNuiNuva has decided to spend his Christmas money on Bionicle since he got no sets for Christmas.

And what Bionicle sets am I looking at to buy, you might ask? Well, I have decided to try to buy at least one of the following:

Reidak
Hakann
Or…Vezok!

That’s right, I’m going completely Piraka for this Bionicle spree. Yo Yo, Piraka. All that good stuff. Man, I wish there was a Deadpool of Bionicle. Oh wait: there is. VEZON!!! Maybe I’ll get him.

So what Bionicle sets are ya’ll gonna buy?

I already ordered Hewkii Inika and Toa Hagah Norik off eBay, though I also plant to buy Uniter Pohatu (and Ketar to go with him).

Okay, I decided. Im going to first get Umarak then Uxar. But when I get them depends on the release of the promotional polybag in my retailed toy store. Last year I missed the transparent Tahu mask with Skull spider, not a big loss since I already have two Tahu masks and have no need for the transparent one…but Mask of Creation and that Nuva cape, those are incredibly sought out pieces.

MoC for now is only obtained by purchasing Ekimu vs Kulta, which is a very expensive set and I dont really fancy Kulta (wish Ekimu was purchasable by himself). By that amount of money I can get the Umarak set which has the Mask of Control and the swanky villain build.

Uxar for me works best colour wise with Umarak, but his poseability is limited. Luckily, I have some spare parts from the 2007 Red crab set, which will help me out in giving some additional poseability in the wings and tail area (giving him an actual dragon fly tail with the 2001 long axel and ball joint piece). Also colour scheme wize, the black pieces from that 2007 crab set will work out well with Umarak.

So the polybag, I wish I wish its released world wide and not Russia exclusive. If Im going to get Umarak, its gonna have Mask of Control. I cant have that mask and not have Mask of Creation (its like a collectors guilt and shame for the rest of my life if I dont). But I dont have the money for Ekimu vs Kulta set as well, so I gotta pick ether that or Umarak with Uxar. And logically if the polybag is indeed a true thing, available where I live, and released around the release of the 2016 sets, then I will wait until it pops up. I am constantly watching the toy shops main site, last year it posted the news about the promotional polybag thing, so Im Watching you, DEXY CO. Me getting any 2016 sets and probably the future set with the Mask of Ultimate Power rests in the happy release of that polybag with the Mask of Creation in it.

The current Toa are not something I would spend money on, Im quite happy with the 2015 Tahu and Gali. The creatures are all awesome (some more than others) but Im going for visual cohesion rather than poseability (I can deal with that with some modifications).

Hopefully the future 2017 set with the Mask of Ultimate Power is a good deal, visually, function wise, and piece wise…

Im saving up my Catholic Christmas money, so when the polybag comes up, Im going to get Umarak and Uxar. the 2016 sets and the polybag will probably pop up somewhere before the Orthodox Christmas, which is mid January.
