Built this remote control combat robot with Power Functions elements for a competition. Thanks to some fancy gearing, the spinning disc weapon spins at approximately 1500 RPM. There’s also some rubber band suspension which keeps the front wings flat to the ground.

I know nothing about calculating gear ratios, but it goes from a 36-tooth gear attached to the XL motor into a 12 tooth gear, then from a 24 tooth gear attached to the 12-tooth’s axle into a 16 tooth gear via a chain.
