Backstory that probably doesn't fit in with G1 but who cares
After having been kicked out of everywhere due to some scandalous rumour about how he worked with Teridax once, Ahkmou had nothing to lose. He willingly threw himself into a pool of Energized Protodermis, not caring about the possible consequences. When he awoke, he was significantly taller, but missing a few parts. Whether this was a side affect of his unorthodox transformation, or somebody looted him while he was unconscious is up for debate. Then he weaponized a wheel, and started doing some things i can’t be bothered to think of right now. Probably nothing good.
