Toa Gaaki (BIONICLE Canon Contest #3: Honor Guard)

right now our reference is norik and iruni. you can see from other 6 toa canister waves how much female toa deviated in thiccness from their male teammates, and it wasn’t this much

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree then on the variations between then. Because going further is a diversion into a discussion on how set limitations reflect the actuality of in-canon appearances which is beyond the scope of this topic.

to be fair, this entire discussion is entirely off topic

Bionicle species aren’t humans they are biomechanical lifeforms that are for the most part robots looking into their world and their frame of reference human proportios shouldn’t even be a thing. They can be humanoid but that doesn’t automatically mean they have the exact same features as humans. It only means they are bipedal creature capable of using some of their limbs to grab, create and use objects.

So they are different from the male counterparts then?

I guess the better option would be to use the GB’s proportions, but we have no idea what they look like. It is an issue though in the arguement, I agree.

not as much as this moc does lol. keep in mind the sets all were clone sets, so any variation like that should probably be left for art portion anyways

Are you choosing to follow movie depiction or actual set depiction? I don’t really get the point in choosing the former lol.

Movie apperances aren’t canon

i thought they were maybe im just dumb lol

The movies are semi canon, apperances are one of the main non canon elements of them.

they look like glatorian. is kiina dummy thicc?

i have her on my desk rn dont lie to me

Going by that logic there is no point in doing MOC contest, cause the variation would be so minimal. Why not just make art contest?

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with this MOC. It follows basic metru standard, which makes it hard to make something creative, so Garvox decided to customize the part of the body its easiest to do - legs. That’s clearly Garvox’s creative decision and represents his MOCing style, which is hard to do in smaller and restricted builds such as Toa Hagah.

There is no art portion, it’s all in one, so it’s competing against art stylization.

And he’s right, they’re non-canon. Regardless, it’s an agree-to-disagree.

Compared to the other sets, she certainly has a pinched waist to be sure, and is smaller, showing sexual dimorphism there.

it shouldnt represent a persons mocing style more than it represetns norik and irunis set style tho. theres a little bit of wiggle room with that obviously but this is clearly far past that wiggle room

there is an art portion. to draw the 6 hagah all together

They are actually

Gosh this contest is so different than the others. Point conceded. It is still competing against art in round 1 though.

the thing it has against it self is the meme potential. It’s not as sexualized as other entries but I can definately see a wave of people getting excitet of seeing this get through and meme it to the top like hoseryx. However I’ve stated my opinion on this earlier in the topic so I won’t repeat myself. You can read my opinion here:

and here:

Yes, comic or set visualisations take precedency

Nope, they are not canon read the above^

A perfect example of an obviously feminine build that isn’t sexualized

its also a glatorian that actually does have the closer to human biology, unlike toa
