Toa Hagah Gaaki, Non-metru WIP

Hey! Got a lot of traction on my previous Hagahs and in a fevered madness I built another team member in all of a day. I’m really happy with how this one turned out, but I still need to track down paint for the weapon so I figured I’d get opinions.

So I took a lot of build queues from Gladiators, or some vague concept of gladiators that is probably completely inaccurate. I wanted a member of the Hagah to be a sort of standard-bearer, someone that you look at and know the Makuta they work with. Hence, the Krahkaan mixed with the cloak.

I seemed to have no trouble finding all the parts for this except the silver sword pieces, which frustratingly elude me. The staff is not done yet, bot in build and in coloration.

A side by side with the previous Hagahs. I tried to stay true to the Rahaga color scheme, and the Gray was in the original so I figured it would be fine. Staring down the nightmare that is and will be Pouks, I figured one of them should be accurate. Gaaki has the same color spacing as the original Hagahs, down to even the black hands which slipped my mind in the first builds.
Here’s the obligatory side by side. I promise I’ll put that guy out of our joint misery once Pouks is done, if he ever is. One note I got from the friend who I run all my mocs by; He’s not a fan of the Thigh armoring, so i figured I’d ask your guys’ thoughts. Dark Gold doesn’t give too much Leeway and I wanted her to look different than Lhikan and Iruini, who she takes all her gold from.

Thanks for reading, have great day!

Some extra angles…

Dang, Gaaki looks a lot cooler than I thought she would. Awesome job.

I like the use of the Flat Gold Krakhan as a shoulder pad.

This is a really nice moc, but I don’t really see Gaaki here, just Lhikan with a different paintjob.

Yeah lol

Love this! Even better than the previous team members! I think the thigh armour works well and is a creative use of such a piece.

The build is really cool, but I’m not sure about the color scheme. Both the gold and blue are pretty dark so there’s not much contrast. That’s not bad in itself but it makes her look a bit dull when she’s standing next to the others.

I really love the warlord vibe Gaaki gives off in this build.
