“No, but you have been surviving so far. With luck, maybe for not much longer.” Timberjack replies.
Railgun retrieves a couple solid rations and perhaps some liquid Energon, provided it’s more on the soft side. He gives Nebula her portion and takes a seat opposite of her. There seems to be a delay before he touches any of his own Energon, as if waiting to see is she’s truly fine with it before taking a bite of his own.
Scrap, should I say something? Machbreaker, where is your dribble when I need it.
“So…” Railgun awkwardly begins, trying to think of anything. “You asked me once if I had any hobbies, but I fail to recall you ever mentioning yours.”
“How did you spot it then?” Sheller asks.
“You read the reports when they returned?” Coverfire asks, resting chin in hand.
“Yes.”
“What of Tie-Grabber’s?”
“He recounted Clawshot’s complaints that Nebula was, and quote, ‘fawning over that lost cause.’ However, even if true for Nebula, Tie-Grabber found it unlikely to be returned by Railgun.” Sheller answers like he was quoting scripture.
“And Machbreaker’s?”
“He was uncertain. Nebula’s actions were possibly just playful and to get underneath Railgun’s armor. Railgun didn’t seem to give any return.”
“If a romanticist like him his uncertain, it’s a good chance they are an item.”
“Machbreaker failed to notice the situation between Maximus and Axis.”
Coverfire’s hand slips from his chin and slams on the table.
“That’s not fair! You know their schedule prevented him from seeing the two enough to pick the clues. It’s not his fault.” Coverfire’s tone was growing annoyed.
“Railgun’s account held no indication.”
Hands filled Coverfire’s face before he looked back up.
“Of course he wouldn’t mention it! With the state he was in, he couldn’t see it even if it was there!” Coverfire pauses, collecting himself.
"Yes, they were free from Rectifier’s control sooner than us. But no group to sort it out like us. They didn’t have Veloxrail. They didn’t have all the other Mini-Cons we helped that tried to sort our issues in turn. There was only so much they could do alone.
But," Coverfire raised a finger, ready to give his ace in the hole. “It was hard to fully hide it from Scuttle. Both Tie-Grabber and Machbreaker’s reports mention noticing something weird when that form chatted with Nebula.”
“Memory fragments from combiners aren’t trustworthy.” Sheller deadpans.
Coverfire faceplants into the table. Sheller blinks at him.
“That was a joke.” Sheller says and Coverfire looks up at him. “…Mostly.”
Coverfire sighs. “Alright then, here comes the list of things on this very trip you should have noticed…”
