Transformers: Beast Machines

So you’re putting your headcanon into this?

I wouldn’t mind if it were some weird alternate dimension but I’ll have to believe that the show is a continuation

I guess, yeah. Is that a problem in any way?

I just pretend that it does not exist to begin with, so we can all be happy.

Well, I watched beast machines all the way mostly, I can say it sucked

Now that I look at it, the majority of this topic has been spent on saying how much Beat Machines sucks, and how amazing Beast Wars is. Though, I can’t really argue with either of those points.

Whether or not you liked how the show ended things is up to you

but canon is not for you to decide.

What happens, happens, and you just gotta deal with it.

It’s arrogant to just straight-up refuse to acknowledge something for what it is.

I think it’s fine to ignore something as bad as this. No need to be rude.

Have you seen Transformers Armada?

I thought it was meh. This one crapped on what is probably my favorite Transformers series.

(That and energon was worse than Armada)

Yes. Yes I have. Well, the first few episodes at least. Armada, while not perfect, has a few upsides. While the same can be said about Beast Machines, Armada never took a massive metaphorical dump on one of the greatest shows ever.

Armada was the beginning of the UT generation

This was the end(so to speak and ignoring Japanese continuity or other continuation) Of the beast wars generation

Worse you say? I’ll have to give it a look.

@MaximusPrime

I don’t remember any. But to be fair, I stopped watching after about 5-7 episodes.

I’m not deciding cannon. I’m ignoring parts of it I don’t like, and replacing them with my head-cannon, in order to make other parts better.

That’s deciding what’s canon.

I am not saying “This never happened, and everyone needs to think so because I say so.” I am simply choosing to personally ignore it, or write it off as an alternate universe.

Unicron Battles.

'Nuff said.

My overall thoughts on Beast Machines:
I liked the show. It wasn’t the best rendition of the Transformers, as a former video reviewer under the name “bull session” once put it, it was one of the rare examples of children’s programming in the late 90s and early 2000s that tried to be about something rather than just being dumb entertainment. The overarching themes and message of the series are pretty intriguing to me, as it did try to take a different and more nuanced approach to the whole “Technology vs. Nature” theme. Unlike others, the characters’ designs did not feel inconvenient to me. I will give you that they are strange looking, but I also find them quite interesting and creative in many aspects. I especially like the Maximals’ look, as they, IMO, conveyed the “techno-organic” style very efficiently. Although some of their facial expressions can be creepy and ugly at times, I think it has more to do with the limits of CGI animation techniques back then than the flaws in the models’ designs. With the current CGI techniques and assets, I think the creators could handle the Maximals’ techno-organic designs much better than it was in 1999.
I admit the constant bickering and infighting within Primal’s team was a bit jarring at times, and Rihnox’s turn was lame, but overall I think it was a decent show for its time.
