Transformers Devastation was a Platinum game made in 2015. Just like the Godzilla PS4 game it was delisted in about 2017 and now it’s quite rare.
I got a copy at a GameStop awhile back and I never played it much. Recently I’ve started playing it again and I was impressed with how good the combat is. It’s a shame it was taken down so quickly.
Has anyone else seen this game?
I watched a full playthrough on YouTube once when I was a kid. I’ve been wanting to play it ever since, hopefully a good remaster comes out at some point.
I have played the game twice now. It’s pretty mindless button mashing but it’s fun
Yeah once you realize the strategy of dodging and then darting in for a guaranteed combo, the difficulty of the game takes a nosedive. I remember reviews of the game from when it launched heavily criticizing the upgrades for doing absolutely nothing, and IMO I think it’s a bit overrated even by those standards. Still fun, but nothing special.
But what do you mean quite rare?
I suppose if you look at eBay you can find a lot but that’s really your only option. Maybe it’s not exactly rare but due to its unpopularity I’ve never seen anyone else who had or knew of this game.
Maybe it was popular when it came out, and I just never heard of it.
Anyone played the Xbox 360 version? I was thinking of getting that version of the game.
If they made the dodge timing smaller and made it to where you actually took decent damage for messing up it would improve its difficulty a lot.
During the first 30 seconds of the blitz wing chase I got hit by like everything but still had most of my health.
I didn’t like it. I thought the combat was incredibly slow and boring, focused too much on nostalgic pandering in an uninteresting way, and was surprisingly short despite feeling overly long and repetitive. Granted, that repetitive feeling is likely due to me not being engaged with the mechanics…or anything.
I hear a lot of praise for PlatinumGames, but I haven’t enjoyed any of their titles I’ve tried. I usually play games to their end and none of their games have been awful enough for me to not finish the thing. But I haven’t pinned down what it is about their games I don’t like, there’s just something that doesn’t click with me.
