Ares stood as she observed the fruits of her labor. The last of the city ruins were being cleared away, and Vex civilians were already building homes.
“What a marvelous victory. They never stood a chance.”
Atlas remarked as he walked up to Ares from behind.
“Indeed my general. But this is just the beginning. I see an empire in our future. Countless planets across many star systems. I want to begin as soon as possible.”
Ares said eagerly. There was almost a hungry edge to her voice.
Atlas gently rested a hand on her shoulder.
“Be at ease my queen. Let our people enjoy our victory. Give time for our machines to be replenished and repaired. Do not be so quick to jump into another war.”
Ares sighed.
“Yes. Of course.”
Ares said as she calmed down.
“I must focus on the now. But I will not forget my aspirations. My people deserve only the best.”
For the next while it wasn’t much more then Ares and Atlas overseeing the development of the new colony.
Ares returned to Kalliope while Hephaestus continued to design and produce more war machines.
The queen saw some massive renovations to her palace. Outfitting it with multiple weapons systems, and even looking to make it space worthy. All the while she was making plans for a successor of her own. Not ready to have an heir just yet, but seeing still wanting to have plans for one when she was.
One morning, Atlas came into the throne room, holding some plans he wished to share. They were for an armada. An expansive and diverse collection of ships and fighters. It was formidable. Outclassing even the best Cybertron had to offer during the Great War. Ares was very excited about the idea, and approved it immediately.
After Atlas left, Ares opened massive holographic star map, and began marking planets for potential conquest.
Tie-Grabber ignores him for now as they board up the chutes in this area.
Overclock tries to not so much remove it as reconfigure the parts around it. Attempting to make so that, upon activating the T-cog to become some climbing machine for them to ride.
Clawshot ignores them as well as he struggled to make a new hook.
The complicated mechanics of transformation would be far too complex for the minicon to properly modify into anything useable. At best after the modification the T-cog would twist Steeljaw’s body into a twisted mass of parts and limbs.
OOC: I couldn’t for the life of me think of a good segway or transition, so here I’m just gonna jump into the big stuff. If I’m being honest I think I might have used all my major creative juices into the first War Machine attack
IC: In relatively short time Ares’ armada was complete, and she began a rampage the likes of which Oddball would have never seen.
An imposing fleet of ships take off from the capital city. Shortly followed by the Vex palace itself. Its crowning spire the spearhead of a terrifying mothership.
In a matter of months her ships and armies conquered every planet in the star system, and in short time they moved beyond that. Planet after planet, system after system. Nothing could stand in the way of her wrath. Every planet made completely void of life before they were populated by Vex citizens.
All the while, Ares worked on the body of her soon to be heir to the throne. As she worked on it, Oddball would notice that it bore a striking resemblance to the statue he saw in the main lobby.
OOC: @Chromeharpoon@ajtazt I’m sorry for the super late response. My graduation was today, and that had me occupied for pretty much the whole day.
Oooooh, I think I’m starting to see what happened, Oddball thinks.
Ares builds herself a daughter, she’s all ‘no-stop-terrorizing-other-species’, Ares is all ‘no-I-won’t-stop-terrorizing-other-species’ right back, a revolution ensues, and the daughter becomes the current queen and everybody lives happily ever after.
…Y’know, except for the guys they kidnap and throw into a ring to beat the slag out of each other for entertainment. Little bit of a moral blind spot there, I think.
“Its a well thought through, especially considering how young he is. Though I feel it lacks a curtain grace.”
Railfire replied.
Fast forward. Ares had been on an unstoppable rampage for many ages. All the while she perfected her daughter’s design.
It was elegant and refined, but more than powerful enough to take her place when the time came.
At last the day came when the new princes was to be awakened. Ares lay her daughter to be on a large table in her throne room. The outside windows showed an endless blanket of stars, as well as a planet under siege.
Ares moved her hand close to her creation. A large hatch in her palm and her inner gas snaked out and went into the lifeless body. After a few minutes, her face lit up. She sat up and curiously looked around.
“Hello, Titania. Welcome to the world.”
Ares said gently.
Princess Titania looked at her mother, then out the window. An orange and red planet dominated her vision. Dozens of blue flashes raged across the surface. One massive glow appeared. Small at first, then rapidly grew to half the size of a continent. It was a world under fire. A world on the path of extinction.
They finish boarding up all the chutes here and Tie-Grabber decides to double check and make sure they got all of them.
Well, it doesn’t have to be that complex. As long as it’s something that could potentially shove itself back up high enough so they can get back on, that was good enough.
OOC: Not sure when Keith will reply, he is currently busy with some IRL events at the moment.
There were trash chutes placed all throughout the compound. The ones in this hall may be taken care of, but to board up every chute in the colosseum would take quite some time.
A dead body in a dumpster isn’t exactly easy to work with. Without a spark or a living mind, any actions from the T-cog would have no order or purpose. This would be a fruitless endeavor.
OOC: I ended the fight remember? Just pick up as if Railgun beat the simulation.
Then they continue throughout to cover at least most of the ones they have access. For higher tier areas, chances are the bulks there could handle them.
In that case they just rip off pieces and use it to eventually make something they can use to climb up.
OOC: Right, but I already wrote an ending where Railgun beat the sim back over here:
After you gave your statement, I thought you didn’t reply/continue off from that post was due to waiting for acknowledgement from Keith.
It would take time, but the process would be doable. Any passing bulks that walked by merely shrugged and wrote it off as a weird minicon thing.
In that time Clawshot managed to make himself a new hook. After many, many, many, many failed attempts. When he was finished he simply returned to his team’s den. Not too pleased about how the day was going.
They could possibly use the scrap to make some makeshift climbing hooks.
OOC: Oh. My bad. I completely missed this. Sorry.
As the stimulation was thoroughly eliminated, both it and its minicon demateralized, and Nebula was brought back to full functionality. She quickly noticed Railgun going berserk, and began to panic.
“Railgun! What the hell are you doing!”
She shouted. Sounding noticeably worried for the small commander.
They work on that and start using their makeshift climbing gear to get up.
As the last of the sim vanishes, Nebula’s scream finally reaches him. He jerk towards her direction and almost looks to yell something before violently pausing. His eyes stop going wild and come back to their normal color after several blinks while he hacks up puffs of black smoke. Railgun reaches out a hand towards Nebula before collapsing with a final cough, symbols reverting back to normal.
There would be nothing stopping them for the most part, but if they had tried to go up the same chute they came out of, it would be blocked off at the very top, thanks to the railroad team.
Nebula quickly ran to his side. This didn’t look good, and she had no idea how to handle it. Best she could think was to bring him to his teammates. She ran off and looked everywhere she could think to find them.
As the years passed Titania grew into a fine princess. She was close to her personal servants, and was generally very kind with the staff around the palace.
But whenever she looked outside, she felt nervous. The fleet of ships, the burning worlds. None of it ever sat right with her.
She constantly asked her mother questions.
“Why are we attacking these people?”
“What did they do to us to deserve this?”
“When will we be done?”
“I want to see our homeworld. When will we go home?”
Ares would always give vauge and indirect answers. Often lying to her outright. While Titania had no reason to not believe her mother, the answers didn’t sit right with her. But a lot of that changed when she decided to ask Atlas.
“The answer is simple my dear. We cleanse other worlds to build an empire. The Vex are meant to take hold of the stars and claim it four ourselves. These vermin are simply in the way, and must be removed so that we can take their place.”
This in fact, did not sit well with the princess at all.
