Transformers: Unicron Apocalypse

Backblast was cackling as he followed the Primes into a fight, more than happy to scrap some punks.

The silver knight’s blade rakes across Bulwark’s back, tearing through the already-battered plating and slicing through the mechanisms beneath. A spray of energon flies out behind the blade, and Bulwark howls in pain and stumbles forward. He groans and turns around, but his movement is sluggish.

Coppeweb transforms back into his helicopter mode and flies above Backblast and the Primes, following the gunfire. He sees the two Knights from before- Bulwark and Defender- locked in close combat with the portal-wielding Knight and a new, gold-plated adversary. He sees that the former two are losing.

The inventor swings his chin gun around and fires off a burst of fire into the ground around the melee, though not firing into the combatants themselves. His aim is to distract the silver and gold Knights and turn their attention away from Bulwark and Defender.

Defender ignores the gunfire, as multiple warnings flash across his vision.
Armor Compromised. Gotta keep moving. Weapons Overheating. Too bad, they better hold out a bit longer. Aai–
“–AAGH!”
His armor buckles outward around his machine gun as the weapon glows red hot, molten steel spattering off with the last of his bullets. His arm burns as the remains of the barrel retract, causing a foul odor as they burn through some tubing, releasing energon and hydraulic fluid into his systems.
“I’m gonna kill you, even if I have to get entirely rebuilt,” he screams at the golden knight, though static is beginning to cloud his vision…

The silver knight stood before Bulwark, looking noticeably angered.

“You’re all nothing but wastes of time. I don’t understand why Valos would bother to stay here and fight, but I’ll see to it that your meddling stops here.”

Just then Coppeweb’s bullets sprayed into the room, catching both of the knights’ attention.

“What now!”
The silver knight shouted.

Prima, Vector Prime, Coppeweb, and Backblast all rush into the room. The lord of time appeared to be shocked by the cosmic knight’s presence.

“You- What are you doing here?”

“Well, if it isn’t my old master. What an unpleasant surprise.”
The silver knight replied. A distinct sound of disgust was present in his voice.

Prima however was furious.
“Villains! You shall pay for what you’ve done!”
He charged forward, wielding the legendary Star Saber. The golden knight Valos raised his dark blade in defense, blocking Prima’s strike. The two blades clashed. Purple and blue auras manifested around the two swords as their opposing energies intertwined and repelled one another. Both knights stood their ground for several moments, before the energy buildup burst, throwing both of them backwards. Though it seemed Prima was far more effected by the blast than Volas was.

The golden knight stood to his feet, genuinely surprised by what had happened. An excited grin played across his face.
“It’s just as he said. Dark energon doesn’t mix too well with you holy types!”

Prima was barely able to get up to one knee.
“W-what… What have you done?”

The silver knight stepped to Valos’ side.
“I cannot insist any further, we really must go. We have what we came for. There’s no reason to stay here any longer.”

“Very well, if you insist.”
The golden knight relented. He looked to everyone else in the room with a kind and confident smile.
“While your hospitality has been more than appreciated, we really must be on our way. So until we meet again, or oblivion finds us all, our master sends his regards. Farewell.”

The silver knight opened a large portal behind the both of them, and they stepped back into it. A moment later the portal had closed, and they were gone.

Meanwhile outside, Fecto was about to take another swing at Solus Prime. But just as he was about to do so, another portal opened beneath him. He fell in and vanished, only for the portal to close a moment later.

And as the battle raged, it was hailing grenades upon everyone as Backblast was going nuts with his launcher.

“Uuughhh…”
Defender staggers to his feet, holding on to a bookshelf, his right arm smoking and arcing. Seeing Prima, he salutes, his battle mask retracting to reveal an expression of absolute frustration.
“My lord, what are these traitors? How are they like this? I can’t – I… uuuhhh!”
He collapses, a servo in his knee cracking with a violent burst of hydraulic fluid, turning some nearby books into blobs of oil and grease.

“Whoa! Hey! Down, man- put the gun down!” Coppeweb shouts to Backblast over the din of a great many explosions. “They’re gone!”

The shockwave created by the clashing of the Star Saber and Valos’s blade had blown Bulwark off his feet and sent him crashing into a pile of rubble. Thoroughly beaten as he was- his armor rent, energon dripping from the gash across his back, and his left leg wrenched into an unnatural angle- the enormous Knight lies motionless within what’s left of the Hall of Records.

Prima pushed himself to his feet. His body felt empty. As if it had been drained of any energy he had. But he couldn’t let that hinder him. Not now. Not after what he had seen.

The regal Prime grabbed hold of Bulwark’s arm and tried to pull him up.
“On your feet soldier. You’ll not be dying this day.”

He put two fingers to the side of his head with his free hand, activating his commlink.
“Quintus, I need you to meet us at the Hall of Records. We have injured here, some of them are critical. … Thank you sister. Please be quick.”

“I’m glad Alpha Trion isn’t here to see what has become of his precious library.”
Vector Prime lamented as he tried to help Defeander back to his feet.
“Not since our battle with Unicron have I seen dark energon used like this. Whatever prospects they have planned, I’m fearful to find out what they are.”

“Thank you, sir,” Defender said, as Vector Prime helped him up. He felt tired. The wounds he’d suffered were now hurting agonizingly. He felt like he’d run a race only to find the finish line somewhere else.
“Sir, are there other attackers? Were they able to harm civilians?”

Bulwark tries to stand, but his left leg creaks and gives out from under him. He groans and falls onto his hands and knees.

“I have no intention of dying just yet, sir,” he says to Prima. “I just… need to rest…”

“Yeah, about that, what in the Pit is this BLEEP with the portals and the zombies and the annoying wackadoodles that decided to torch the place and leave it looking like Megatronus barely missed with his Requiem Blaster?” Backblast asks, seeing his targets were no longer in sight.

“I am afraid some civilians have been injured. Those shambling beasts were all over Genesis. And as it was dark energon that animated them, fending them off was worryingly difficult…” Vector Prime admitted.

“I can’t speak for the rest of the attackers, but their leader was… uncomfortably familiar,” Prima added.

Minutes later, Quintus Prime had arrived to treat the injured knights.

By her side was Alpha Trion, as well as a small magenta scholar. Coppeweb would likely recognize the meek individual as the civilian he had helped to escape earlier.

“My precious library!” Alpha Trion shouted with pure dismay. For a moment he looked as though he might collapse.

“Don’t you faint now. I already have enough wounded to treat as it is.” Quintus walked over to Bulwark and knelt down. She looked over his various injuries, then looked him in the face. She regarded Bulwark with a kind and warm smile that only a mother could give.

“Hello there. It seams you’ve taken quite a lot of damage, but don’t worry. I should have you fixed up in no time.” With her six hands and a bit of primal magic, Quintus Prime set to mending Bulwark’s wounds. He would feel his pain quickly dull, bringing him some well deserved ease.

“Who was he?” Coppeweb asks Prima. “Old student of yours?”

“My thanks to you, Prime,” Bulwark says graciously to Quintus. He opens the compartment in his leg and removes the shards of Dark Energon that he had retrieved from the attackers’ minions.

“The attackers used these crystals to raise their creatures from the ground,” the Knight tells Quintus, holding the shards out to her. “I hope that these might be studied by greater minds than mine to learn more of their properties.”

“Yeah, I’m kinda curious about that since it made me a bit dizzy and stuff wouldn’t stay dead.” Backblast adds.
