Trust Levels

What if I were mod, everything would just work out, am I right?

Does entering topics mean reading them or making them?

Entering just means going into a topic, you don’t have to read all the posts

So, reading automatically counts as entering a topic?

Yes

And the different topics requirement, does it not count if they’re in the same category?

It just means you can’t make 25 posts in one topic to get protector, you need to make at least 1 post in any 25 topics that aren’t your own.

What are the master requirements now?

Here’s the stuff from the original post:

Long story short the most important thing is reading a lot of posts, specifically the most recent ones. Check the “Latest” tab on the main page if you want to easily find those recently-posted topics.

It could take a while but you can just go through that “Latest” tab like I mentioned and catch up on what’s been going on.

Okay, thanks. But also what exactly counts a post read?

When you come across a post that you haven’t read, at least on a computer’s web browser, there’s gonna be a little blue dot in the upper right corner. Once you’ve read a post, that little dot will fade and disappear.

You don’t actually have to read every post if you don’t want to, just scroll to them, wait a second or two for the dot to disappear, then keep scrolling. You also don’t need to see the full post, either. It’s a nice feature if you can’t keep up with lengthy discussions going on.

Another thing you may want to keep an eye out for is the “Tracking” tab at the bottom of each topic. Set every topic you can to “Tracking” so your main page will show you when a new post in that topic is created. Really eases up on how hard you have to look for each new post (I can say it’s probably what helped me the most while getting Master).

[EDIT] Here’s a screenshot of what I mean by “blue dot.”

Hope this helps

Excuse me does anyone know how many days I have been on the message boards? I ask because I would like to know if I have enough days of participation to be qualified for the ‘Regular’ trust level or not.

Just message one of us moderators and we’ll let you know what you need. I’m sending you a PM with your current stats

Excuse me, when we go to TTV Message boards, let’s say we did not post a reply but read a post on a certain topic. Would that count as being active if you did not post? If so would that apply to all Trust Levels?

What do you mean by active? If you’re talking about viewing or entering a topic, all you need to do is open a topic you haven’t been in before. If you’re talking about receiving notifications for a topic, you either have to linger in a topic for a certain amount of time, or you need to make a reply in the topic

I was asking if reading a post on a certain topic counts as being active or not because I know that we have to go on TTV message boards daily to be an active member right? I was wondering if reding a certain post would count as an activity or not.

Consistent activity only matters when you want to keep or get master in which case you have to read 60% of the latest topics. So long as you read some of the latest topics it will count towards master and will be considered active.

For regular trust levels once you get it you will have it forever so you just have to read enough posts no matter how old they are.

can the trust levels change? I’ve been on ttv for 2 1/2 years and master is just too much of a time commitment. I don’t want to be a basement dweller. it’s really the % requirements that are the time destroying ones.

Would you mind telling me why I lost my Master role? I was visiting the site everyday and being active. How did this happen?

I cannot go from
Trust Level 3 → Trust Level 2 like that.
How do I get back to being Trust Level 3?
