alright pretty simple and easy to understand
So from reading this topic it sounds like the Mods and admins can check stats of the members. I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to, but is there a way I can check my own status without having to ask an admin or Mod? If not I think it would be a useful feature.
I think it’d be pretty useful too…
(in due time maybe idk…)
Look, I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t like the idea of “Master” at all. I mean, you have to work and work as hard as you can to reach the requirements, and for what? Only to lose the highly sought-after title if you forget to do something.
It’s like saying, “You have to be a total and complete addict to our website to even have a hope of getting the highest achievable rank! Oh, and don’t screw up, cuz we’ll take it away just as quickly if you do, and then you can get even MORE addicted to our website!”

Why can’t we just earn it and be done with it? I feel like I’m being forced to be a board-addict.
.-.
I’m sorry you feel that way man. To be honest, it doesn’t matter if you’re a master or a protector. It’s perfectly fine to just not be a master, (I know I’m not the best person to say this, as I’ve been a master since, like, September) it’s not like we’re given a hundred bucks just for being involved with the site. And that’s mainly what the title is there for, to get people to be involved with the community.
This kind of thing is going to come from every kind of reward system, people won’t like the fact that others can easily get what they have to struggle for (something like that. I’m all drugged up right now so just go with it) and some people won’t like the fact that we get small perks.
Now, the whole “losing-the-rank” thing has me on the fence. I mean, they put that in so that you can’t just get Master and then stop supporting the community. But in most cases I’ve seen, people have lost it simply because they have other stuff to do with their life at that moment.
I guess I understand what you’re saying and all, but while you make a good point, it still bugs me. Especially with what you just said - what about the dedicated supporters who have to leave for a short while because of other, more important things going on in their lives? What about the people busy with/going off to college, or whose internet connections crash for an extended period of time, and who don’t have any access to the web (something that’s happened to me before)? It seems less than fair for these people, who had rightfully earned their titles and then lost them for upsetting, unjust reasons.
Having master, and not having master makes little to no difference
You get to help out the community by moving topics to the right place, editing titles, and access to the highly suspect lounge
which is really empty
and dare I say it
almost completely useless
So THAT’S what the lounge is like!
I’ve always wondered!!..
Life can throw you a bunch of obstacles at times, but no matter how bad things get for me, there’s a point where I still need to show up to work. A family member may die, my car might be stolen…there’s a lot of days they might give you leniency on, but there is a point where they have to say “Hey, we know why you’re not coming into work, but we can’t still keep paying you because you’re gone for so long.”
I don’t think that’s unfair. It’s unfortunate, yes, but your job still needs people to do work, and if you’re not doing that they have to find someone who will.
That’s not the best comparison, because that’s like saying being a member here is like having a job. It isn’t. But it is a social site. Like any other social construct, the more active you are socially, the more you get rewarded. If you happen to be less social, for whatever reason, you stop getting rewards.
Life happens, and you can’t always be here. We sympathize, we really do. But my job as a site manager isn’t just to get people here, it’s to find ways to make people stay here. An incentives program has been proven to be the best way to do that. I’m sorry if you don’t like it, but it’s been proven to work and it’s not changing anytime soon.
Alright, alright, I understand. I guess it just seemed unfair from my viewpoint. Thanks for clearing it up, though.
I was just looking over the Master details again, and saw this. It was probably here before and I didn’t notice it, but… what does this mean? What’s automatic nofollow?
Hmm… am I the only active protecter left?
Edit: Nope! shout out to @ToaPyren and @DargeD . Protecters FTW!
Oh great… my first double post T.T
I don’t post enough to become the master of redddddddd greeeeeeen
I’m a Protector!
…hopefully not for much longer. >:D
Protector FTW!
I can only assume it has to do with this:
Not that I understand much of it to begin with.
…wat
It seems like you’d get less targeted ads…? But why would that even be a benefit that they would give?
Sorry, I guess, I became a Master…
