A few days ago, I had the brilliant idea to go to the TTV YouTube community. I clicked on the channel aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand… they have community turned off? I think it is a missed opportunity, but what about you?
(I have no idea what category to put this under, so I put it under site. Can you suggest a better category?)
I get what you mean, but the YouTube has a COMPLLETELY different audience than us lurkers on this blue n’ white website. It would make TTV’s audience on YouTube bigger than just the comment sections. Maybe the reason TTV keeps community off is that they want this site to be their main location forever? Possibility. Or maybe they just hadn’t updated their YouTube in a while…
It’s also that youtube communities require a lot of effort to maintain, whereas most of the TTV cast hasn’t posted on this site in literally years and it generally runs itself. Plus generating an active community on youtube would mostly prompt people to demand that the podcast come back, attack certain members of the cast, or say things they know they could never get away with on the Boards.
TTV has never pulled an audience large enough to justify the additional effort for a channel that barely produces content anymore. Sure, less people come to the Boards as a result, but the community is tighter and nicer as a result.
That… is actually inarguable. Thanks for answering my question! Theoretically, if this community weren’t as dead small, then the community thing would have happened.
