Umbra, Light in the Shadow

Well…Umbra, I must say that this was a challenge. Taking a design as questionable as Umbra’s and trying to revamp it is difficult, probably why you don’t see many of them.
One of the main things I changed is the colour scheme, I made it consistent sticking to just black, green and instead of yellow gold. Which I personally think works a lot better.

I decided to give the mask a double visor, one inside the mask and a second over the eyes like sunglasses. The thought is that he most likely can’t see much while in “light form” so sunglasses made sense lol.

There is still silver in the design but only a little, the tubes and the lance.

The feet sadly make posing a little tough but at least he has actual feet now.

I do like the new roller blades a lot more than the originals though.

I’m actually pretty happy with the new Lance. Took off the spinner purely cus I couldn’t make it work and look good at the same time.

As always a nice comparison to the original set. No lance included since the Inika weapons aren’t in Studio yet.

Lastly the 3 Guardians of life together.

Thanks, glad to hear that it was a success. I must admit my bias towards the set made revamping him pretty tough but I’m actually pretty happy with the result.

you have took an average set, and made it a supreme moc. the laser derek- sorry, laser lance looks amazing like this, umbra with shades is something i didn’t know was such a good idea.

Hey thanks. The Lance is a custom part yeah, it was originally made by someone on thingiverse by the name of AbsoluteBeginner, I think it’s based on a historic lance. I then modified it so that it would work for a bionicle build.
As for the mask I 100% agree but I did feel that it would start becoming a bit unrecognisable if I changed the colour scheme all too much ya know.
