And the G2 Marathon continues! This week, Jungle begins!

Inspired by the Toa, who have since left for the stars, the Protectors decided to find their own creatures to pair with. After getting some modifications from Ekimu, each found a critter blessed by one of the Element Creatures. And with the rising darkness from Skull Caster and other new foes, this partnership could not come at a better time.

Figuring out how I wanted to balance the colors on Vizuna was tricky. If I wanted to keep the comic and webisode look, all the forelimbs should be black. But then the Keetorange felt weirdly absent and not quite like Vizuna. Keeping only the forearms out of the limbs as that color was my compromise to try and keep him still in line with the others, but not too far away from his set appearance.
Though I imagine the changes to his weapon are more noticeable. Vizuna was my favorite of the Protectors set-wise, and I really liked his crossbow…And right there is the immediate problem. It was described as just a bow, but of the G2 bows it was the least bow-shaped of them. And I get the energy effects are supposed to make it appear more elemental, but it doesn’t quite pull that off for either Jungle or Air for me. Plus, I think it’s a bit too large for his size, so I shrunk it down and tried to give a stronger crossbow look. Did consider making those horn/energy effect pieces in Keetorange, but thought it might distract too much.
The Technic piece in the middle behind the 2015 armor add-on is the same color of green as the CCBS shells. Not easy to see that in these photos, but he is the only Protector that is multi-colored that way under there.
Yukzem:
Copter-flies are frequently mocked by both the islanders and their fellow insects for their goofy way of flying. Many comparing them to jellyfish the way they bob up and down randomly. This opinion slightly changed after one copter-fly, Yukzem, challenged Uxar to an obstacle race and just barely managed to beat the Creature in navigating through the maze. For this feat, Yukzem was blessed by Uxar and they have severed as a guardian for the Region of Jungle ever since, helping guide those lost in the deep roots of the land.

Previously noted, this was going to be the fire critter originally. It only became Jungle because I forgot that most of my other trans-orange limb parts of that color were being used by the Sphere of Influence since I have yet to dismantle the convention MOCs. Whoops.
I did try a couple of different mechanisms to get it so the rotor blades could be reangled while they’re united. But I didn’t find any that satisfied me. At least none at this smaller size. And originally I attempted tandem rotors as well, much like the Helli-deer I did long ago, but that wasn’t working out either.
